Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Architect with a strong background in designing and implementing enterprise-scale Data Lakehouse architectures. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in data engineering and architecture, with expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Delta Tables, Unity Catalogs, GitHub, and GitHub Workflows. The candidate will play a key role in building scalable, secure, and optimized data solutions to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Architect and Design Solutions: Lead the design and implementation of Data Lakehouse architectures using Azure technologies such as Data Factory, Databricks, Delta Tables, and Unity Catalog.
  • Data Integration: Develop and implement pipelines to ingest, transform, and integrate data from various sources using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
  • Data Governance and Security: Establish and enforce best practices for data governance, security, and compliance using tools like Unity Catalog and Azure RBAC.
  • Collaboration and Version Control: Leverage GitHub and GitHub Workflows to manage version control, CI/CD pipelines, and collaboration across teams.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize the performance of data pipelines and storage for scalability and efficiency, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Documentation and Training: Prepare architectural documentation and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions to upskill team members.
  • Emerging Trends: Stay updated on emerging trends in data architecture, Azure technologies, and industry best practices. 
Requirements
  • 8+ years in data engineering/architecture with a focus on Data Lakehouse design and implementation.
  • Proven expertise in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Delta Tables, Unity Catalog, and GitHub.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, SQL, PySpark)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and workflow automation using GitHub Workflows.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance practices.
  • Azure Certification: Azure certification (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer Associate) is desirable but not mandatory.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Power BI or other visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and advanced analytics pipelines.
  • Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.


Remote Work Information

Compensation Information

The average salary for this position is expected to be between $90,000 and $140,000/year however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We do not anticipate candidates to be paid at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case-by-case basis.
