Amida is looking for a detail-oriented
Junior Project Manager that will serve as a customer point of contact for assigned projects and will act as the liaison between Amida's customers and our engineering or data teams. This role will report to the PMO Director. You will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of project technical, contractual, administrative, and financial performance.
You will be responsible for planning, organizing, monitoring, and reporting on projects to ensure that they are delivered on time, within budget, and exceeding customer expectations. You may manage one or more technical workstreams in a program of related projects or may independently manage a small project. You may also be assigned other tasks in accordance with company needs and your skills.
What You Will Do
- Assist in planning, directing and coordinating project tasks
- Manage and supervise personnel involved in all aspects of project activity
- Oversee the successful completion of all assigned tasks
- Develop and track project plan and provide well-written progress reports against the plan
- Manage project schedule and all contract deliverables
- Responsible for daily management throughout the life cycle of the program
- Manage one or more technical workstreams
- Attend stakeholder meetings and maintain regular correspondence with stakeholders
- Gather technical requirements and represent the company's technical interests to the customer
- Participate in and facilitate business analysis and system design activities
- Prepare or contribute to project budgets, and track resources compared to forecast
- Manage risks and issues over the course of the project life cycle and take corrective measures
- Create or contribute to project artifacts and work products, such as requirements documentation, project summaries, and weekly or monthly reports that describe outcomes and impact of our work
- Monitor industry trends and standards related to project management best practices and implement those on Amida projects
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, social science, data science, computer science, or a related field
- Documented coursework or certification in project management (PMBOK, Agile)
Required Experience
- Five years of full-time work experience, with at least two years of full-time project management experience and credit for degrees beyond Bachelor's
Required Skills
- Superior attention to detail
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects or assignments while ensuring technical accuracy and timely delivery for all work products and deliverables
- Excellent analysis and documentation skills; ability to follow established procedures or create/improve procedures
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills to include the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders, technical staff, and management across all levels
- Ability to work comfortably in a rapidly changing environment
- A dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment
- Experience in Microsoft Office products such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel to include the ability to create templates, formulas and charts/graphs
Preferred
- Experience with Jira for requirement, defect & issue tracking
- Editing or copywriting experience
- Experience with software development projects
- Experience working in an Agile framework, with Scrum or equivalent certification a plus
- Experience working with large government or commercial clients
- PMP certification preferred, other project management certification a plus
We prefer candidates located within 50 miles of the DMV area for a hybrid position, but we are open to remote opportunities for those located beyond 50 miles.
