Job Summary
We are seeking a talented UX/UI Designer to join our team and help us create intuitive, visually compelling user experiences. The ideal candidate will have expertise with design tools such as Figma, Lucid, and Jira, a solid understanding of core UX/UI principles, and experience collaborating in an Agile or Scrum framework. This role involves close collaboration with various stakeholders, product management, engineering, and other designers to ensure a cohesive user experience that aligns with business objectives and user needs. Key Responsibilities
User Research & Analysis:
Conduct user research, not limited to interviews, surveys, and other research methods to identify users' needs and pain points, and translate them into actionable design solutions.
Design & Prototyping:
Utilize Lucid and/or Figjam to outline user flows, site maps, and process diagrams etc.
Design and develop wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes that translate and clearly articulate complex requirements into intuitive and functional design for both webapp and mobile applications.
Visual & Interaction Design:
Apply best practices in typography, colour theory, and layout to create appealing designs aligned with HIT branding guidelines and accessibility standards.
Maintain consistent design language and patterns across various platforms, following established style guides or creating new ones as needed.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work with product managers and stakeholders to understand project scope and requirements.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and other designers, to deliver user-centered solutions
Coordinate with engineers to validate technical feasibility and ensure smooth implementation of designs.
Utilize Jira to streamline design processes and track progress.
Testing & Iteration:
Plan and conduct usability tests, gather user feedback and analyze results to inform and design decisions and improve user experience.
Refine designs based on testing outcomes and stakeholder input.
Keep comprehensive design documentation and maintain proper version control to track design changes and iterations.
A Learners' mindset:
Stay informed about industry trends, evolving design tools, and emerging best practices.
Be confident in proposing improvements to enhance the overall user experience and streamline design processes.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human-Centered Design, UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum of two years' experience in a UX/UI Design role, or similar.
Strong understanding of core Human-Centered Design, UX/UI design principles and methodologies.
Experience with accessibility standards and inclusive design.
Experience in designing digital products in specific industries like E-commerce, SaaS, or enterprise applications.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficiency using Figma for prototyping and high-fidelity design
Experience creating user flows and diagrams with Lucid (Lucidchart, Lucidspark, etc.)
Familiarity with using Jira or similar programs for tracking design deliverables.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and presentation skills for effectively conveying design concepts.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
A team player with a collaborative mindset and strong out-of-the-box problem-soling skills.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with HTML and CSS to bridge the gap between design and development for better collaboration with front-end developers.
Experience working within Agile or Scrum frameworks.
Knowledge of other design tools and platforms (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe XD, Balsamiq, Sketch etc.) is beneficial.
A strong portfolio showcasing design projects highlighting design-thinking and thought processes.
Working Conditions
The role often involves participation in virtual team meetings, design reviews, and iterative feedback sessions. Regular collaboration with remote or distributed team members may be required, depending on project scope. The position may accommodate a flexible schedule as organizational policies permit.
