The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee financial reporting, compliance, fund administration, and operational accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple business entities and will play a key role in financial planning, tax compliance, investor relations, and audit coordination. Additionally, this role will help prepare the company for financial statement audits and improve accounting and bookkeeping processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
You’ll Be Doing
General Ledger & Accounting Operations
Manage and oversee daily and monthly accounting operations.
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet, cash flow, and income statement accounts.
Implement and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Review contracts related to fund operations and track renewals and updates.
Audit & Tax Compliance
Act as the primary liaison for audit and tax teams, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.
Manage preparation and submission of tax-related filings (e.g., K-1s or equivalent) and ensure compliance with state, federal, and international tax regulations.
Oversee withholding tax compliance for non-U.S. investors and maintain proper documentation.
Coordinate external audits, including those for international subsidiaries, and manage the audit timeline to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Monitor and implement necessary changes based on new tax or audit regulations.
Ensure 1099 forms are accurately reported and filed in compliance with tax regulations.
Assist in preparing the company for financial statement audits by shoring up books, ensuring proper record-keeping, and reconciling discrepancies.
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
Ensure timely completion of Blue Sky filings and track state-by-state compliance.
Maintain valid EINs for all entities and coordinate with legal teams to manage entity structures.
Track deadlines for FATCA/CRS, Economic Substance filings, and other jurisdiction-specific regulations.
Monitor regulatory updates and ensure compliance with changing laws, particularly in the cryptocurrency and investment space.
Operational & Process Development
Identify inefficiencies and propose process improvements for fund administration, financial reporting, and compliance tracking.
Develop and maintain internal guides, checklists, and SOPs for recurring tasks.
Implement workflow tools, including calendars and automated reminders, to streamline operations and ensure deadlines are met.
Build and maintain internal documentation systems to ensure version control, security, and accessibility.
Fund Administration & Financial Reporting
Manage relationships with fund administrators and oversee NAV calculations, quarterly financial statements, and P&L reporting.
Track fund expenses, oversee reimbursements, and manage investor payments, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
Work with fund administrators to process and record investments and maintain investment documentation.
Prepare financial statements with accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
Perform reconciliations and detailed account analysis during the monthly close process.
Oversee accounting for multiple subsidiaries, including those operating in foreign currencies.
Manage treasury functions, including cash management and financial planning.
Work directly with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) by ensuring source data is timely and accurate for financial modeling and forecasting.
Investor Relations & Documentation Management
Assist with onboarding new LPs, including managing documentation and KYC/AML processes.
Track investor contact details, commitments, and distributions.
Oversee LP and GP distributions, including calculations, approvals, and payments, ensuring detailed transaction records.
Serve as the primary resource for managing fund-related documents, including financial reports, investor agreements, and regulatory filings.
Strategic & Leadership Development
Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency in fund operations.
Stay informed about industry trends, fund operations, and regulatory updates, particularly in the cryptocurrency and digital asset space.
Develop a knowledge base and personal glossary of key financial and legal terms.
Support internal teams with financial insights and guidance to improve decision-making.
We’re Looking For
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA is preferred.
Minimum 4 years of experience in accounting, audit, financial reporting, or fund administration.
Strong understanding of GAAP, accounting for complex business entities, particularly with multiple subsidiaries.
Knowledge of international tax, audit regulations, and SOX is a plus.
Familiarity with general ledger software, including implementation.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Exceptionally high attention to detail and ability to work on multiple priorities simultaneously.
Interest in bitcoin and experience with bitcoin or cryptocurrency accounting is a plus.
Self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including auditors, legal teams, and fund administrators.

The Pay Range For This Role Is
75,000 - 137,000 USD per year(Remote)
