Our client is seeking an Accounting Assistant, who will work as a part of the team and communicate frequently with the Accounting Executives. This role performs bookkeeping, accounting tasks, and administrative functions related to their clientele. The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for delivering error-proof work with a positive and professional attitude.
WORK SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (10:00 PM – 7:00 AM Philippine Standard time), follows Philippine holidays
POSITION TYPE: Full Time
WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote
Essential Functions
Perform the following accounting-related preparation tasks:
Prepare and update daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly updates on bookkeeping engagements
Prepare and book journal entries, adjustments, and monthly reconciliations
Reconcile balance sheet and profit and loss statements
Reconcile payroll
Prepare monthly financial reports for simple clients
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close-outs
Assist with client and administrative projects
Perform the following administrative/miscellaneous tasks:
Refer to the company’s core values to assist in problem-solving
Manage calendar to schedule daily and weekly workload
Attend weekly meetings with specific accounting team members
Fulfill and update tasks in the BotKeeper AI platform
Maintain client checklists in Karbon
Respond to all comments on tasks and emails in Karbon
Participate in 1:1 check-ins to discuss individual goals, concerns, and growth
Attend daily huddle
Attend scheduled trainings and workshops
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Advanced computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft 365 applications, especially Microsoft Excel
Ability to understand raw data and tables in accounting software to build reports
Experience in Microsoft Great Plains is a plus
Effective and professional verbal and written communication with co-workers, vendors, customers, and external auditors
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision
Analytical skills with particular attention to detail, and accuracy, personally committed to work quality
Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
