Job description

We are seeking a Payroll, Benefits, and Compensation Manager (all genders) to lead regional payroll operations, compensation planning, and benefits optimization for HRS employees across Germany and internationally. This role will ensure seamless execution, compliance, and continuous improvement across these HR functions while managing vendor relations to achieve top-quality service and efficiency.


This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced HR professional to drive impactful changes in payroll, benefits, and compensation operations at HRS, ensuring compliance, optimization, and superior employee experience across the region.


CHALLENGE

Payroll Operations and Optimization

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll lifecycle for all HRS entities, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing in line with local labor laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external payroll providers, monitoring performance to guarantee compliance, efficiency, and a high standard of service delivery.
  • Ensure data integrity and secure transmission between internal and external systems, facilitating seamless integration and protecting sensitive payroll information.
  • Validate employee data accuracy concerning work hours, absences, and payroll-related features, upholding high compliance standards.
  • Provide payroll expertise to HR and business leaders, staying current with legislative updates and payroll policies, and implementing these changes effectively.
  • Lead payroll projects focused on process improvement, with a strong emphasis on automation, simplification, and standardization to enhance service quality and efficiency.

Compensation Planning

  • Develop and implement competitive compensation programs, conducting benchmarking and market analysis to align HRS’s compensation offerings with industry standards.
  • Partner with finance and leadership teams to drive strategic compensation planning, including budgeting, funding, and statutory reporting activities.
  • Design and maintain compensation structures, ensuring they are fair, equitable, and compliant with regional requirements.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders on compensation policies and practices, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and retention strategies.

Benefits Optimization

  • Manage regional benefits administration, working closely with vendors and in-country HR teams to oversee enrollment, claims management, and compliance with legal standards.
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of new benefits programs, enhancing employee satisfaction and ensuring that HRS remains competitive in the market.
  • Drive vendor performance and relationships, ensuring service excellence and exploring opportunities for cost optimization and benefit enhancements.
  • Provide benefits education sessions for employees to improve their understanding of available programs and handle benefits-related inquiries effectively.

  • Payroll, Benefits, and Compensation Expertise: In-depth experience in payroll operations, benefits administration, and compensation planning, with a solid understanding of regulatory compliance and best practices.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to manage and collaborate with external vendors, ensuring service alignment with HRS standards and employee expectations.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to perform data analysis, identify trends, and drive data-based decisions for payroll, benefits, and compensation enhancements.
  • HR Technology Proficiency: Proficient in HR platforms such as SAP SuccessFactors and MS Office (particularly Excel) to ensure effective data management and streamlined operations.
  • Bilingual Communication: Fluency in German and English, with excellent communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and manage complex information.
  • Project and Change Management: Skilled in leading payroll, benefits, and compensation-related projects, with a focus on continuous improvement, process optimization, and adaptability to a dynamic environment.
  • Detail-Oriented and Independent: Ability to work autonomously with high attention to detail, taking full accountability for the accuracy and efficiency of payroll, benefits, and compensation services.

LOCATION, MOBILITY, INCENTIVE

The attractive remuneration is in line with the market and, in addition to a fixed monthly salary, all necessary work equipment and mobility, will also include an annual or multi-year bonus. Onsite Munich, Berlin or Cologne
