Join Pens.com as a Senior Lead UX Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience and visual identity of our platform. In addition to contributing to design projects, you will lead our North American product design team, overseeing day-to-day operations, fostering a collaborative culture, and ensuring the team's success.

What You’ll Do:

• Team Leadership:
• Lead weekly stand-ups, providing guidance and direction to the UX team.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative design culture, promoting continuous learning and improvement.
• Manage project allocation, ensuring effective resource utilization and timely project delivery.
• Talent Management:
• Help to recruit, hire, and onboard new designers, ensuring the team is equipped with top-tier talent.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to team members, supporting their professional growth.
• Manage interns, offering guidance and hands-on experience in a dynamic work environment.
• Project Oversight:
• Drive the end-to-end design process, from concept to delivery, ensuring a consistent and high-quality user experience.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, cross-functional teams, including product managers and developers, to align design initiatives with business goals.
• Take ownership of design projects, leading by example and maintaining a commitment to excellence.
• Collaboration Across Time Zones in an Agile Setting:
• Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders in an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning and reviews, ensuring the seamless integration of design into development workflows.
• User-Centric Design:
• Create visually stunning and user-friendly designs that cater to the unique needs of B2B customers, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.
• Wireframing and Prototyping:
• Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to effectively communicate design concepts and interactions.
• Design System audit:
• Audit established design systems, providing recommendations for optimization contributing to the consistency and efficiency of design implementation across the B2B E-commerce platform.
• Usability Testing:
• Conduct usability testing sessions to gather valuable user insights, iterate on designs based on feedback, and optimize the overall user experience.
• Responsive Design/mobile focus:
• Create designs that are mobile first but responsive and adaptable to various devices, ensuring a consistent and delightful experience for users across different platforms.
• Accessibility-Centric Design:
• Champion accessibility in design, ensuring that all user interfaces are compliant with accessibility standards. Conduct regular audits and collaborate with development teams to implement inclusive design features.
• Stakeholder Communication:
• Present design concepts, decisions, and rationale to stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring alignment with project goals.
  
  
  

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience Proven experience as a UX/UI designer, interaction designer, product designer, or related.
• Prior lead experience.
• B2B e-commerce industry experience is preferable.
• Highly proficient in Figma design software.
• Demonstrated experience working in Agile development environments is preferred.
• Expertise in accessibility and global localization in design.
• Experience with an A/B testing platform (AB Tasty, Optimizely, or similar).
• Functional understanding of Google Analytics and user engagement tools like Hotjar.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with front-end development technologies and processes.
• High level knowledge of design principles, interaction design, and user-centered design methodologies.
• Excellent portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and problem-solving skills.

Pens.com is seeking to welcome a strategic thinker with a proven track record in a similar role. The range of the base salary for this role is $100,000-$125,000 plus bonus potential, accompanied by a competitive benefits package.
