GAPS is a UK based charity which promotes relationship-based approaches and psychodynamic and systemic thinking in social work. It is funded by its ownership of the ISI ranked Journal of Social Work Practice. GAPS offers spaces for Social Workers, Social Work Students and Academics to connect and reflect, and to develop skills in and understanding of relationship-based practice.
We are a friendly group of Trustees who work together cooperatively, seeking a freelance project coordinator to work alongside the charity’s existing Coordinator to support, develop and expand our activities. We are looking for someone who would thrive in such an environment and help our community flourish.
The person we are looking for will be available to work flexibly between 7 and 10 hours per week from their own location and be able to travel within the UK to attend in-person meetings and events.
The worker will be autonomous in the management of most of their time whilst meeting the requirements of scheduled events and deadlines of the organisation. For employment and national insurance purposes, the person chosen will offer their services as an independent, free-lance, self-employed contractor who will provide their own equipment and work from their own location or on-site at GAPS in-person events. Regular guidance and support will be provided by the current project co-ordinator and trustees. (See the Job Description & Person Specification).
The hourly rate will be between £25 and £30 depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
