Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct account and partner responsibilities for assigned territories.
  • Maintain a current knowledge base and skills set including; relevant competitive solutions sets, ADTRAN product specifications, performance criteria, end-user applications, and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical and sales support including demonstrations, evaluations, and training for accounts in assigned territory and perform technical presentations for customers, partners, and prospects.
  • Assist in the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities.
  • Work cross-functionally with Proposals, Marketing, Corporate, Engineering, etc. to ensure that information is consistently up-to-date and accurate.
  • Participate in strategic meetings with cross-functional members in order to identify issues, client requirements, product requirements and direction, processes, and timelines of final products to be delivered to clients.
  • Maintain a current knowledge base of and consistently convey ADTRAN brand and company specifics, competitive customer solutions, as well as product strengths and weaknesses.
  • Ensure the final deliverable product is functional, meets the customers’ needs, and upholds the ADTRAN brand as well as maintaining a professional and positive image of the ADTRAN brand
  • Other projects and tasks may be assigned to accommodate the changing needs of the department and the Company.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven record of quota attainment and ability to work effectively with sales team
  • Self-starter who is able to work effectively with limited direction and guidance
  • Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy to understand manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent presentation and creativity skills
  • Familiarity with installing, configuring, and managing a virtualized Linux environment.
  • Ability to travel extensively required: 60% or more out of office, 40% or more overnight stays. Must be able to adhere and comply with customer and company travel policies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience as a Solution Engineer positioning SaaS solutions
  • Proven track record selling complex software solutions
  • Ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with senior executives
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Experience with RESTful and XML API integration with OSS/BSS systems and associated tools such as cURL and Postman
  • Deep understanding of service provider networks with a strong focus on fiber-based transport and access technologies.
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated experience with IP Routing, Ethernet Switching, VoIP, IP Telephony, VPN, Security, 802.11 Wi-Fi, DHCP/PPPoE, FTTx (GPON, XGSPON, Active Ethernet), and Transmissions Systems preferred.
