 About Drivenets:

DriveNets is a leader in cloud-native networking software for hyperscalers and service providers who are building the largest infrastructures in the world for network services, AI platforms and SaaS offerings. Founded in December 2015, DriveNets disrupted some of the most challenging high-scale markets, transforming the way Networks are built, scaled, and consumed. We also built the largest network in the world, with more than half of AT&T’s backbone running on DriveNets’ Network Cloud. DriveNets has raised $587 million in three funding rounds which enable us to dream big and bring on the most talented people. We are seeking smart doers who would like to make an impact and are experienced in SaaS, networking or AI infrastructure solutions.

The Role:

As the leader of the Global Supply Chain & Hardware Engineering team, you will have global responsibility and accountability for the entirety of DriveNets’ supply chain and hardware engineering functions. This is inclusive of strategic negotiation, partner selection, forecasting, purchasing, warehousing, logistics, export/import, and RMA. You will also own, in partnership with the R&D and product teams, DriveNets’ network hardware design and production functions, from design and proof-of-concept through CM/ODM selection, contract negotiation, and production/lifecycle.

 Responsibilities:

  • Curate DriveNets’ partner ecosystem, ensuring that healthy, high-quality, mutually beneficial supply chain and partner and VAR relationships exist for all key business functions.
  • Build and curate a comprehensive supply chain and network hardware engineering organization, ensuring appropriate coverage and capability in all functional areas.
  • Establish SLA/OLA frameworks with all internal and external partners, describing, transparently, how you hold yourself and your team accountable to your stated objectives and goals.
  • Protect DriveNets’ business holdings and interests with good contractual and risk management hygiene.
  • Right-size the cost savings:business benefit ratio through effective, tested negotiating strategies with vendors and partners.
  • Define and manage the on-boarding process and criteria for new suppliers and partners.
  • Analyze supplier and partner performance data and use it to enhance both DriveNets’ economic position and supplier/partner performance.
  • Manage the purchasing process from beginning to end, ensuring that internal stakeholders have their expectations set and updated properly.
  • Ensure automation and self-service frameworks are a first-order principle.
  • Define and document processes for engagement with your organization. Engage with internal and external partners to drive uptake/adherence.
  • You ensure that the procurement process does not end with PO issuance – you see purchasing as a lifecycle and ensure that your processes, frameworks and people treat it as such.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Conduct cost analyses and set benchmarks for continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively and transparently with the company finance, legal and IT departments to make sure contracts and terms are favorable, seeking alignment across teams but not blocking on it.
  • Design and deploy contractual frameworks with CM/ODM partners that ensure DriveNets’ economic success, both now and in the future.
  • You think hard about long-term scale and let that inform your choices today.
  • Define, lead, and drive the hardware design and lifecycle processes with input from R&D, product and finance teams. Iterate on existing designs to DriveNets’ economic benefit.
  • Own and curate the hardware roadmap.
  • Partner with ODM/CM ecosystem members to iterate on existing designs to DriveNets’ business benefit. Be able to speak at a highly detailed/technical level about design choices and beneficial alternatives.
  • Act disruptively to the existing monolithic network hardware ecosystem. Work to marry ecosystem economics and offerings with DriveNets’ business model.
