Job description

Figma is growing our team of passionate people on a mission to make design accessible to all. Born on the Web, Figma helps entire product teams brainstorm, design and build better products — from start to finish. Whether it’s consolidating tools, simplifying workflows, or collaborating across teams and time zones, Figma makes the design process faster, more efficient, and fun while keeping everyone on the same page. From great products to long-lasting companies, we believe that nothing great is made alone—come make with us!

The Localization Manager will play a key role in supporting Figma’s mission to help make design accessible to all. This role is highly collaborative and cross-functional; working across GTM, Product, Design, Engineering, Global Marketing, and with multiple outside vendors to develop, optimize, and implement processes that scale. You will also be a key contributor in defining our localization strategy as we grow, and continue to bring Figma to new markets across the globe.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States

What you'll do at Figma:
  • Own the day-to-day localization processes and outputs. You’ll be responsible for scaling localization and implementing efficient and scalable end-to-end localization frameworks for multiple products across a range of diverse content types (case studies, blog posts, video, audio, OOH) across global markets
  • Project manage end-to-end localization/transcreation project(s), ensuring smooth and scalable work across internal and external team collaboration
  • Understand and communicate localization efforts needed for new market entry, including coordinating across several departments timelines and workback plans needed to hit all deadlines
  • File, review, prioritize, and supervise the resolution of bugs that affect localized content quality and functionality
  • Analyze current pain points in workflows, quality control, tools in order to provide recommendations, and implement scalable solutions for improvement
  • Develop strong partnerships with our localization vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Test possible AI tools and additional translation/transcreation technologies to enable the team’s strategic goals
  • Research and make recommendations for areas of expansion
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
  • 6+ years of proven experience working with global language localisation in a fast-paced role, with accountability for delivering projects with multiple components and multiple partners and collaborators
  • A strong understanding of localization methodologies and TMS technologies; experience working with Smartling a plus
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal; with the ability to build strong relationships across cultural and geographic lines
  • Excellent project management skills for producing customer-facing content; including for marketing, customer support, and/or digital products
  • LQA experience, including bug fix validation
  • Previous vendor management experience, including budgeting, contract negotiation, and driving day-to-day communications
  • A strong understanding of localization methodologies and TMS technologies - experience working with Smartling is a strong plus
While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
  • Experience in SaaS, Tech or Design
  • Fluency in more than one language, Spanish highly preferred
  • Experience working at a global start up or scale up company
  • Accustomed to working at pace, can quickly connect the dots across projects and multi-task to successfully drive outputs
  • Experience working with a CMS and design tools (like Figma!)
  • Ability to research and make recommendations for areas of expansion
  • Based in New York or East Coast preferable
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways.
