Job description

Overview:

In this role, the Senior Human Resources Manager –Talent Development is tasked with driving forward-thinking talent management initiatives including training, learning and development, performance management, succession planning and talent programs.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions 

Strategy Deployment:  

  • Collaborate closely with the Vice President of Human Resources to craft and refine leadership and talent program strategies that resonate with Ampact’s overarching strategic objectives 
  • Serve as a key influencer in aligning talent initiatives with organizational goals, ensuring agility and responsiveness to evolving dynamics.  
  • Lead the design and integration of talent management programs; such as talent identification, succession management and talent development programs.  
  • Promote and increase the visibility of talent programs through organization-wide communication plans, leveraging Ampact intranet and other innovative strategies with the goal to continually increase uptake and utilization of talent programs and tools. 

Talent Marketplace:  

  • Oversee the governance, enhancement, and application of the Talent Marketplace collaborating with organizational leaders to align with evolving organizational needs, optimize internal equity, and drive performance, recruitment, and retention initiatives. 
  • Partner with functional/subject matter expert leaders to assess the effectiveness of the program and identify the short to mid-term needs of the organization. 

Performance Management & Talent Review:  

  • Drive performance management and Talent Review strategies by championing leader development, deploying advanced tools for talent identification and skill gap analysis, collaborating with Vice President of Human Resources to operationalize actionable succession plans, and proactively monitoring readiness to mitigate retention risks and ensure organizational resilience. 
  • Manage the performance management activities throughout each annual evaluation period. 
  • Ensure timeliness of performance management activities. 
  • Work in collaboration with HR Manager for Employee Relations to review and assist in developing Performance Improvement Plans. 

Organizational Development:  

  • In collaboration with Vice President of Human Resources, spearhead organizational development initiatives, including succession management, talent review process, and internal salaried mobility programs, while leading change management efforts and orchestrating strategic communications to amplify the impact of talent programs, cultivate engagement, and nurture a culture of continuous learning and growth. 
  • Partner with Vice President of Human Resources and organizational leaders to conduct semi-annual talent reviews of each department and state. 
  • Develop and design strategies and tools to manage the talent review process. 

Talent Data Enhancement:  

  • Establish and lead a proactive talent data function, leveraging insights from performance and 360-degree reviews and robust skill libraries to transform talent management from a reactive to a data-driven, proactive approach, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and fostering continuous learning and development. 

Industry Insights & Thought Leadership:  

  • Proactively monitor and stay abreast of talent trends and best practices to inform short to mid-term talent program strategies and provide recommendations for long-term insights. 
  • Continuously monitor, evaluate, and report on program effectiveness to senior leaders and check and adjust as needed for enhanced organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years related experience. 
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft products. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to anticipate and identify problems/issues; recommend and implement solutions/alternative courses of action. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitivity and discretion. 
  • Ability to work independently and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff in a team environment. 
  • Self-starter who works well with limited direction. 
  • Strong client service focus and commitment to organizations values of diversity and inclusion. 
  • Strong administrative, management, and leadership abilities. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and projects; ability to work under pressure.
