About the role
As a Senior Engineering Manager at Point, you’ll lead two engineering teams focused on AI-driven workflow optimization and automation, directly improving operational efficiency and the company’s bottom line. You’ll drive technical strategy, mentor high-performing engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable automation solutions. Your Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor two engineering teams focused on AI-driven workflow automation and operational efficiency.
- Define and execute the technical strategy for workflow optimization, ensuring scalable and reliable automation solutions.
- Drive collaboration with Product, Data Science, and Operations to identify and implement AI-powered improvements.
- Ensure high-quality execution, balancing speed, technical excellence, and business impact.
- Scale and optimize engineering processes, promoting best practices in automation, observability, and system reliability.
- Foster a strong engineering culture, emphasizing ownership, continuous learning, and innovation.
- Track and measure impact, using data-driven approaches to evaluate automation effectiveness and inform future improvements.
- Hire and develop top talent, ensuring the teams are high-performing, engaged, and aligned with company goals.
About you
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in engineering management, leading multiple teams.
- Experience scaling engineering teams and driving high-impact projects with measurable business outcomes.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, and Operations to align engineering efforts with company goals.
- Deep technical acumen with expertise in backend systems, AI/ML applications, or workflow orchestration (coding experience is a plus but not required).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent industry experience.
- Technical Leadership – Ability to guide architectural decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and ensure high-quality engineering execution.
- People & Performance Management – Experience mentoring engineers, fostering a strong team culture, and driving continuous improvement.
- AI & Automation Expertise – Strong understanding of AI-driven automation, workflow optimization, and scalable system design.
- Leadership & Team Development – Hire, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Technical Strategy & Execution – Define and drive the roadmap for AI-driven workflow automation, ensuring scalable, efficient, and reliable solutions that align with business objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with Product, Data Science, and Operations to identify automation opportunities, streamline processes, and deliver measurable business impact.

Fully paid parental leave
- Point will true-up wages from state-applicable PFL earnings so that the employee’s total gross pay will be equivalent to 100% of their regular base pay, as well as two weeks of fully paid leave to be available after exhaustion of state PFL.
- For employees in states without Paid Family Leave, Point will provide up to 8 weeks of paid parental leave.
- In addition, all employees will receive 4 weeks of fully paid transition time. For four weeks after returning from parental leave, and following the use of all other paid leave benefits, you may work part-time, meaning two or three days per week, and receive 100% of regular base pay.

Compensation at Point will be determined by skills, experience, and geographic location. Point has identified the expected annual base salary range for roles at this level based on market by tiers (Region | Location | Market Range):
- Tier 1 | San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Los Angeles, & Seattle | $199,300 - $269,700
- Tier 2 | Chicago, Austin, Denver, Boston, Washington DC, San Diego | $169,405 - $229,245
- Tier 3 | All other US metro areas | $159,440 - $215,760
This does not include any other potential components of the compensation package, including equity, benefits, and perks outlined above. At the launch of each position, we benchmark compensation to the appropriate role and level utilizing competitive compensation data from various data sources as references. At the offer stage, we use the signal we received from our interviews coupled with your experience, location, and other job-related factors to determine final compensation.
