Position Overview: Compugen is seeking a Programmer Analyst for an initial 7 month contract working remotely. There is potential for extensions. Candidates must currently reside within Canada and available to work CT. Key Responsibilities:
Gather and analyze information and business requirements for the development of secure functional and system design specifications.
Liaise with users to determine appropriate solutions.
Create and modify code, screens and reports according to published standards and considering the Information Management and Information Protection requirements for the system.
Create and modify screens and reports.
Develop secure application code that is integrated with other customized or commercial software programs.
Design code and procedures for computer systems of varying sizes.
Develop/maintain, test and implement computer systems of varying sizes. Produce/modify forms, manuals, programs, data files, and procedures for systems and/or applications.
Verify accuracy and completeness of programs by preparing test plans and sample data, and testing them by means of unit, functional, integration, system and user acceptance testing.
Complete quality and peer reviews as required, to ensure high quality technical deliverables and documentation.
Assist with the implementation and secure integration of applications including Vulnerability Assessments and Transition Procedures.
Skills & Qualifications:
Five years’ experience in systems analysis, design, and/or programming, of which five (5) years must be using applicable software (Micro Focus ES, COBOL, JCL, IMS, VSAM, SQL Server, Powershell, $U, Windows Server)
Technical Knowledge & Skills:
Ability to manage multiple activities within established deadlines
Knowledge in system integration is an asset
Demonstrated ability to complete technical reports and conduct thorough research
Good understanding of high level architectural solutions
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in order to convey technical information in a clear, concise and understandable manner for both technical and non-technical audiences
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and communications with supervisors, other employees, and vendors
Demonstrated competency in the following or other applicable technologies and skill sets:
