Make your mark for patients

We are looking for a Bilingual Mito Care Coordinator for the entire U.S. This individual should be empathic, highly collaborative, and solutions-oriented and join our Patient Support Programs Team. This position is remote/virtual in the U.S. and may require up to 20% travel to existing UCB sites.

About The Role

The Care Coordinator is a healthcare professional who offers individualized support and serves as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and caregivers enrolled in the UCB Rare Disease Patient Support Program with our Mito Case Managers, access specialists, and the broader rare Patient Support Program operations and patient experience representatives. The UCB Rare Disease Patient Support Programs are designed to help patients gain access to, and support the appropriate use of, a prescribed treatment by offering support along the patient’s treatment journey. You will assume case management responsibilities and focus on supporting patients with access, affordability, administration, and adherence-related care. You’ll identify and alleviate stressors and barriers to treatment through appropriate educational solutions to deliver an individualized model of care that benefits patients, families, and caregivers.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as patient primary point of contact for UCB’s Rare Disease Patient Support Services Program
  • Provide individualized, empathetic patient support
  • Provide professional customer service for patients
  • Understand and communicate patient-specific insurance coverage along with access and affordability

options to support appropriate patients

  • Develop compliant and collaborative professional relationships with all relevant internal and external

customers including, but not limited to, Mito Case Managers, access specialists, and the broader rare

operations and patient experience representatives to support the patient experience

  • Understand patient/caregiver-specific knowledge and beliefs about their illness (severity, treatability,

controllability), and help patient track their progress, where applicable

  • Understand patient/caregiver specific perceptions regarding treatment and support to meet the

unique needs and preferences

  • Support patient/caregiver with skills to foster an effective communication with their HCP, equipping

patient/caregiver with questions to consider when discussing their treatment regimen with their HCP

  • Understand how the patient lives with the condition, and offer tools and resources to address

financial, social and emotional needs, where possible/applicable

  • Execute Patient Support Program in compliance with UCB Standard Operating Procedures and report

AE safety information accordingly

Interested? For this role, we’re looking for the following education, experience, and skills

  • Current RN license, bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or Pharm.D., or relevant experience within a healthcare setting 
  • Minimum of 2+ years of clinical experience is required to have worked with pediatric patients with chronic health conditions and their families
  • Bilingual: ability to understand and make oneself understood by Spanish-speaking individuals
  • Above-average skills with technology, including the ability to quickly learn and accurately utilize contact center systems, CRM, and virtual platforms
  • One to two years experience in remote/virtual Call Center providing patient education and support required
  • Provide world-class Customer Service

Preferred

  • Clinical education experience
  • Experience with patient support services
  • Knowledge of the insurance landscape as well as financial assistance options
  • Previous biopharmaceutical experience /Rare Disease
  • Previous experience working remotely

This position's reasonably anticipated base salary range is $86,400 - $113,400 annually. The actual salary offered will consider internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
