SAP Business Development Manager

Job Overview

The SAP Business Development Manager is responsible for driving business growth by identifying and developing new opportunities for SAP solutions and services. This role requires a deep understanding of SAP products and the ability to engage with clients to help them optimize their business processes through SAP. The Business Development Manager will work closely with sales, marketing, and presales teams to develop strategies, build strong client relationships, and close new business in the SAP sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Opportunity Development:
    • Identify, qualify, and generate new business opportunities for SAP services and solutions.
    • Proactively research and prospect potential clients across various industries.
    • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of leads through strategic outreach and networking.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution:
    • Develop and execute business development strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to prepare proposals, presentations, and demonstrations tailored to client needs.
    • Drive and lead client conversations regarding SAP products, helping to define business requirements and solutions.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Establish strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within client organizations.
    • Understand client pain points and work with internal teams to deliver tailored SAP solutions.
  • Market & Industry Analysis:
    • Stay up to date with trends in the SAP ecosystem and developments in the technology and business landscape.
    • Gather market intelligence and competitor insights to enhance business development strategies.
  • Collaboration & Internal Coordination:
    • Work closely with the presales team.
    • Coordinate with marketing teams to create relevant content and campaigns that support business development efforts.
    • Provide input into the development of SAP solutions based on client feedback and industry trends.
  • Contract Negotiation & Closing Deals:
    • Close deals and transition clients to project implementation teams, ensuring a smooth handoff.
Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or related roles, ideally within the SAP ecosystem.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP solutions, including SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Business Suite, etc.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with CRM software and sales tracking tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Knowledge of the SAP market and emerging trends.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or consulting, with a focus on SAP solutions.
  • SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Sales Associate, SAP Certified Application Associate) are a plus.
