Project Manager

Job Description:

This person will be responsible for supporting the full life cycle of individual projects of varying nature in the energy sector. In this role, you will work with clients of ThinkOnward to understand their requirements and resourcing needs for a project and translate into actions for a cross functional team (engineering, product, marketing, etc.). This includes handling day-to-day project management and communication between various functions and customers.  You will support the business unit team primarily; however, there is room for expansion across the business.

What You’ll Do: 

• Oversee day-to-day execution of individual client projects 
  • Coordinate with key individuals to ensure smooth technical operations
  • Manage multiple steps of the project process from framing to close out
  • Support business analysis and performance monitoring
• Manage internal and client teams' expectations 
  • Provide feedback on project timelines and expectations, proactively request long-lead items 
  • Assist Engineering with planning and monitoring
  • Coordinate XiR communication and support 
  • Facilitate delivery of project content to stakeholders
• Appropriately escalate operational, resource, budget or timeline issues 
• Collaborate with internal team to find new and creative ways to maximize performance, optimize costs and look for areas of potential growth
  • Proactively identify process and/or resource inefficiencies and propose alternatives
  • Explore/brainstorm different use cases for business including prospective clients, markets, etc.
  • Support business development and marketing efforts as appropriate
• Adapt quickly to solve problems for leadership and internal teams 
• Form trusting relationships with internal cross-functional teams  

What you’ll bring:

• 5+ years of project management experience with emphasis in geology and/or geophysics and data science
• Experience working with subsurface data and data management
• Proficient in Petrel software for subsurface workflows
• Organized and ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Effective communicator and comfortable working with virtual teams across diverse domains and with multiple stakeholders
• Familiarity with agile processes and best practices is a bonus

• Preferred location: Austin, Remote for the right candidate
• Up to 10% travel may be required
