Operations Coordinator (Full-Time) – Tuscany, Italy

Job Overview

As a full-time Operations Coordinator with Backroads in Tuscany, you will be at the heart of our day-to-day logistics. From managing our van fleet and overseeing warehouse operations to coordinating essential activities with our field staff, you’ll play an integral part in ensuring that every Backroads trip runs smoothly. This role is perfect for someone looking to combine their operational expertise with their passion for active travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Van Fleet Management: Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and readiness of our vans. Ensure all vehicles meet safety and quality standards before each trip.
  • Logistics Coordination: Schedule and coordinate van arrivals and departures, manage the loading/unloading process, and supervise inventory accuracy.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small team of seasonal operations coordinators, ensuring efficient workflows and positive team dynamics.
  • Warehouse Oversight: Manage inventory, receive and dispatch packages, operate a pallet lift when needed, and maintain a well-organized warehouse.
  • Maintenance & Seasonal Projects: Perform minor mechanical checks, handle service appointments, and manage winterization or other seasonal maintenance tasks.
  • Collaboration with Field Staff: Serve as the go-to contact for field staff regarding equipment needs, loading plans, and any operational concerns.

Qualifications

  • Operations Experience: Previous work in operations, warehouse management, or a similar logistical role is highly preferred.
  • Driving Skills: Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; comfortable driving vans and maneuvering trailers.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competent with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Communication Skills: Fluent in both English and Italian, with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate across teams.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and manage physically demanding tasks.
  • Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
