This is an exciting period of growth for us at SwissBorg with a focus on delivery, from shaping efficient processes to squad coordination. We are building a top-notch Engineering Team with talents from all over Europe, and are looking for the spark that helps them focus on the essentials and work in the best conditions.

Our Engineering Managers are instrumental to the success of our engineering teams, and this is an incredible opportunity to play a key part in shaping SwissBorg's future. The position is within the Payments Team, which is responsible for facilitating the flow of funds in and out of the platform as fast as possible within regulatory guidelines. This team expects high operational continuity.

Its structure usually consists of an Engineering Manager, a Product Manager, and a team of 9 software engineers. This squad is meant to grow, split, and evolve into a set of squads encapsulated into a common “track”, which you might eventually be responsible for.

  • Grow a healthy, collaborative, continuously improving engineering culture
  • Apply Tribal Leadership principles and maintain the team at level 4+
  • Organise the team rituals and ceremonies
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement
  • Follow the Agile principles and be their first advocate
  • Make the mission of the team clear internally and externally

  • People Management
  • Coach engineers of all levels and individuals facing any work related challenges 
  • Be responsible for attracting, mentoring, supporting and retaining a team of top-notch engineers who design, build and support SwissBorg infrastructure
  • Onboard new members 
  • Attract and retain new talent
  • Ensure that our hiring processes are best aligned with the requirements
  • Work closely with all Engineering Managers to create hiring plans

  • Delivery
  • Drive the implementation of the roadmap and balance new features with technical debt
  • Manage expectations and work closely with high level stakeholders
  • Ensure productivity by removing obstacles and creating a results driven and high performing engineering environment 
  • Plan and prioritise the team’s roadmap, and champion team projects internally
  • Monitor metrics to ensure that teams are hitting and are on target 
  • Work closely with the Product Manager to ensure that outputs and goals are aligned
  • Own and create new processes
  • Share opinions and input, with the ability to influence the direction of the engineering teams

  • We would love to hear from you if you have the following experience:
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Prior experience coordinating a team and delivering on a roadmap
  • A “people first” approach - you care about facilitating learning and growth on the team - you put our engineers first
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • A deep understanding of communication, group dynamics and coaching, and can help teams develop trust and safety
  • Comfortable providing feedback and having sometimes difficult conversations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Although this is not a hands-on position - we are looking for an understanding of the latest frameworks and technologies so that when something isn’t working or delivery is slow, you know how to fix it
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
  • Solid organisational skills
  • Must have an interest in crypto or blockchain eco-system

  • Nice to have:
  • Comfortable working in a hyper growth environment and understanding the challenges that come with a scaleup environment
  • Previously managed remote distributed teams
  • Knowledge of Crypto or Blockchain eco-systems
