Essential Job Functions

  • Build, configure, and upgrade CICS Transaction Server regions independently.
  • Maintain and upgrade MQSeries subsystems and related sub-products.
  • Perform backup and restoration of MQSeries system components and ensure disaster recovery readiness (e.g., pagesets, logs, bootstrap datasets).
  • Define and configure MQ Pagesets, allocate channels, define buffer pools, and enforce security rules for processes.
  • Restore services and resolve problems through troubleshooting and corrective/preventive actions for both CICS and MQSeries.
  • Coordinate technical activities across multiple resources and groups for projects.
  • Provide on-call 24 x 7 support rotation.
  • Perform disaster recovery drill exercises for CICS and MQSeries environments.
  • Support MQSeries Distributed Queue Management.

Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrated understanding of CICS Transaction Server system internals, including storage protection, transaction isolation, and RENTPGM protection.
  • Experience with inter-region communication methods such as MRO and ISC.
  • Familiarity with IBM Assembler language sufficient to analyze code, dumps, and exits.
  • Experience with standard MVS tools: TSO/ISPF, JCL, IBM Utilities, VSAM Utilities, SDSF, etc.
  • Knowledge of security packages, including ACF2, RACF, and/or Top Secret.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution for CICS and MQSeries environments.
  • Application of preventative and corrective maintenance PTFs and HIPER PTFs on test and production system software libraries.
  • Installation and support of vendor products running within CICS.
  • Familiarity with network connectivity installation on the mainframe side.

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to perform change management functions, including ticketing, opening/closing changes, and resolving compliance issues.
  • Strong skills in performing data security audits, collecting evidence of compliance, and addressing non-compliance findings.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines and milestones.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to enforce MQSeries security and audit conformance.

Work Environment

  • Remote opportunity within the United States.
  • May require evening or weekend work.

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $91,400 - $169,700.
