Job description

This is a remote position.

Our client is seeking a Legal Consultant with at least 15 years of experience in the clearing and forwarding industry to support the due diligence process of an acquisition. This role requires someone with a deep understanding of contract law, regulatory compliance, and legal matters related to logistics, supply chain, and trade. This is a fully-remote, flexible, independent contracting role that offers 4 to 8 hours of work per day, with the flexibility to work during hours that best suit you. The successful candidate will assist in reviewing contracts, assessing risks, and ensuring that the business operates in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This is a remote position, and the candidate must be available for virtual collaboration with the due diligence team.

Responsibilities:

Conduct a thorough legal review of all business agreements, contracts, and regulatory compliance within the clearing and forwarding industry.
Provide legal advice on the potential legal risks involved in the acquisition process.
Review and ensure that the business is compliant with all relevant industry regulations and standards.
Analyse corporate governance documents and advise on potential areas of concern.
Provide recommendations for mitigating any legal risks.
Collaborate with the finance and HR due diligence teams to ensure a comprehensive review.

Requirements

At least 15 years of experience in legal roles within the clearing and forwarding or logistics industries.
Expertise in contract law, regulatory compliance, and international trade laws.
Experience in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing contracts and agreements.
Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
Proven track record of providing strategic legal advice.
Ability to work remotely and communicate effectively with a cross-functional team.
