About the role.... 

The Commercial Foundation Seed Lead will be responsible for all aspects of foundation seed production activities for all crops including support for product demonstrations. The location of this role is preferred to be in West Lafayette, IN or Wolcott, IN but may be located remotely and reports to the Sr. Director of Commercial Operations.  

As the Commercial Foundation Seed Lead, you will… 

  • Ensure seamless execution of all early-stage activities on products advancing from Product Development to include: 
  • Coordination of product pipeline visibility, demand planning and lifecycle management with Dir. of Product Management 
  • Responsible for all activities related to foundation seed increases, seed quality and inventory management. 
  • Responsible for acreage planning, contracting, and production activities for foundation seed with contract growers. This can include guiding activities during the growing season such as planting, growing, harvesting, processing and storage of foundation seed.   
  • Maintain in-season grower relations, communications and expectations.   
  • Lead the planning and procurement process of input goods and consumables for Commercial Operations. 
  • Manage logistics of foundation seed movement for both domestic and international sources. 
  • Contribute to the ongoing success and growth of Inari 
  • Develop and adhere to Inari's Quality Management System 

You Bring… 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Science, or related discipline with ≥ 10 years' experience managing contract production. 
  • A deep understanding of crop production including both field and plant operations. 
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment 
  • Ability to rapidly learn new software and improve workflows  
  • Attention to detail with excellent time management and organizational skills.  
  • Extensive seed industry contacts  
  • Experience reviewing legal documents is a plus  
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills  
  • A strong sense of purpose and drive to develop unique, high impact solutions.  
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for new challenges, and a passion for learning.  
  • A collaborative mindset that is open to giving and receiving ideas, perspectives, and feedback.  
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.  
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals and audiences. 

 

 

Bonus qualifications:
