Abut the role: 

FareHarbor is looking for a full time Team Lead to lead for different engineering teams in the EMEA region.

You will lead a growing team of engineers and work closely with them to help each member develop their skills and careers, while supporting them to expand the FareHarbor application. You will need to use your hands-on experience to support the team on day to day operations, but you’re not expected to code.

You will work collaboratively with the technical management group within the Engineering and Product organization to ensure that the engineering team you lead is firing on all cylinders to reach company objectives. You’ll understand the priorities of the team and the company at large, and use that understanding to effectively lead your team to success.

What you’ll do here:

  • Manage 5-8 direct engineering reports
  • 1-on-1s, career management; develop an encouraging and challenging environment
  • Technical oversight on effective solution design, decomposition strategies
  • Technical leadership and mentorship
  • Assess and manage the performance
  • Tracking and optimizing the team performance
  • Close collaboration with the Product Manager within the team
  • Balancing between product development advancement and engineering excellence
  • Assist in hiring initiatives for the Engineering and Product group as needed

 

Requirements:

  • You have some experience leading an engineering team - Minimum one year management experience
  • In Depth Software development experience; using one or more Object Oriented Programming Languages. (Preferably Python, Javascript, Java, Scala, C++ etc.)
  • Solid understanding of System architecture, high-availability systems, and service-based architecture.
  • Have a good understanding of software design patterns and principles, including SOLID
  • Have hands on experience and can optimally judge technical solutions proposed by your teams
  • You see processes as tools for achieving great products, not goals in their own right
  • Enjoy and thrive under a high level of autonomy and responsibility
  • You want to work in and encourage a positive, supportive, and fun environment
  • You are genuinely excited to mentor engineers
