Job description

At eBay, we're more than a global ecommerce leader — we’re changing the way the world shops and sells. Our platform empowers millions of buyers and sellers in more than 190 markets around the world. We’re committed to pushing boundaries and leaving our mark as we reinvent the future of ecommerce for enthusiasts.

Our customers are our compass, authenticity thrives, bold ideas are welcome, and everyone can bring their unique selves to work — every day. We're in this together, sustaining the future of our customers, our company, and our planet.

Join a team of passionate thinkers, innovators, and dreamers — and help us connect people and build communities to create economic opportunity for all.

About the team:

Collaborating within a product team, you’ll craft clear, consumer-facing content that directly impacts business outcomes. You’ll take full ownership of your workstreams and connect various initiatives to ensure a cohesive customer experience.

About the Role:

You will lead key end-to-end projects that enhance the buying and selling experience on eBay. As a full-stack senior content designer, you know writing is designing. You see language as a design material and as an integral part of the UX Design process, and you get others to think the same. You not only understand how to evaluate the quality of content design, but also how to improve it. You enjoy working with cross-discipline partners to co-create strategies, iterate through all stages of fidelity, and define outcomes in ambiguous spaces.

What you will accomplish:

  • Lead the content design process from discovery and ideation to the final fit and finish of full-fidelity designs

  • Deliver high-quality, error-free content that aligns with UX standard methodologies

  • Express a POV that considers perspectives from partner teams, anticipate risks, and engage in healthy debate that leads to resolution

  • Drive a cohesive product narrative and end-to-end consistency in partnership with marketing and customer support teams.

  • Ensure content is accessible and inclusive, and collaborate with the Localization team to scale content for global markets.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in English, journalism, communications, marketing, human-centered interaction, or related field and 5+ years professional experience in content-focused roles with 3+ of those years on in-product UX content
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating human-centered design thinking and solutions
  • Experience leading or co-leading the design process, from early concept to launch
  • Experience developing a product content strategy for web and mobile, including designing for accessibility and inclusivity
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence without authority
  • Excellent, highly creative communication and critical-thinking skills
  • Management of multiple projects in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
