Job description

Mob Entertainment is a startup multimedia studio that is best known for our hit indie horror game "Poppy Playtime".  This franchise is one of the hottest new properties in gaming, and our team is naturally expanding as our ambition expands.  To give a taste of our brand's popularity, more than 100 billion YouTube views of Poppy Playtime related content have occured since the game's launch 4 years ago.

As a result of our success and popularity and the allure of our Poppy Playtime characters, we have a successful licensing program. But, we’re just beginning. We want to bring Poppy Playtime products and merchandise to where fans are and they’re worldwide! Come help us build and grow  the Mob licensing program to new levels.

MOB Entertainment is looking for an Associate  Director of International Licensing  to manage global licensees and licensing agencies.   

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Manage existing international licensing  partner accounts
  • Ensuring that partner accounts comply with their grant of rights and that production and marketing timelines are met 
Manage existing international licensing agencies and seek new agencies in additional territories
  • Ensure our existing licensing agencies have what they need to best support the Poppy brand through a deep understanding of the franchise and curated assets for the best pitches to local licensees
Develop international licensing programs
  • Building and directing the vision and execution of the international licensing programs 
Manage International business performance
  • Tracking forecasts, royalties, sales wins/challenges, product platform and retail performance within the regions and identify additional opportunities for growth
Provide feedback
  • Providing feedback and brand direction on visual assets, product mockups, packaging, and marketing collateral 
Collaborate with internal teams
  • Collaborating with brand sponsors and internal stakeholders to amplify international licensing endeavors
Analyze data
  • Regularly compiling physical and digital sales data to develop pacing analyses and forecasts for international agencies and licensees
Evaluate tools and processes
  • Continually evaluating tools, technology, and processes to identify new business efficiencies 
Assist international licensing agencies in their negotiations with new licensee agreements
  • Negotiating licensing agreements and commercial terms for outbound licensing 
  • Identify emerging opportunities
  • Expanding our portfolio of products outside the normal toys, books and apparel while paying close attention to the cultural differences in each country

Some other responsibilities may include: 

  • Developing outreach strategies 
  • Working with the legal team to ensure smooth contract flow 
  • Sourcing licensed collaboration opportunities 

WHAT YOU NEED: 

  • Experience in content distribution, licensing, and business development 
  • An ability to balance insights and data with gut and instinct 
  • A strong understanding of global markets and consumer targets
  • The ability to identify global key market opportunities that are unrealized or underdeveloped, aggressively pursue those opportunities, with strategies for success and measured results on a consistent basis to provide revenue realization and extended  growth of those target markets and the demographics within, by collaborating with our talented Analytics team
  • Solid experience developing and nurturing relationships with major retailers in primary international markets  to further their knowledge and awareness of our brand and exciting projects we are developing on the upcoming horizon

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Source, negotiate, contract and oversee licenses for the company’s brands in territories outside of the United States and Canada.
  • Identify, engage and manage licensing agents in international territories.
  • Maintain relationships with consumer products companies including toy,
    publishing, game, apparel, accessories and other key categories.
  • Manage product approvals.
  • Partner with the company’s, licensees’ and media platforms’ Marketing groups on
    consumer awareness initiatives and fan engagement.
  • Support the company’s Finance group regarding licensee revenue statements
    and payments.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Prior experience in a similar role relating to international consumer products and licensing.
  • An employment history that includes successful consumer products licenses with top
    brands.
  • An ability to successfully communicate with and fulfill the needs of our international licensees.
  • Familiarity with consumer products license agreements.
  • An ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Prior entertainment and/or gaming experience.
