We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to lead our AI initiatives. As the first dedicated engineer in this role, you will be at the forefront of integrating AI across our business processes and solutions. In this role, you will build robust services that interact with both internal and external providers, and leverage big data for analytics and reporting purposes. Your work will involve crafting and building the data infrastructure needed to power advanced analytics and AI models that will propel our company forward. This position offers an immediate opportunity to make a social impact by reducing excess inventory for fashion and footwear brands, thus decreasing CO2 emissions and contributing to a healthier plan

What You’ll Do:

Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.

Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices.

Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proof of concepts.

Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data.

Develop data set processes for data modeling, mining, and production.

Lead the design and deployment of sophisticated analytics models and machine learning algorithms.

Build data science models, data pipelines, and implement ML Ops frameworks.

Manage and oversee the extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and cloud-based data technologies.

Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, operational, and engineering leaders. Foster a culture of sharing, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.

Who You Are:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, machine learning or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in ML, data engineering, and using MLOps tools.

Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.) and data frameworks (Apache Airflow, etc.).

Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.

Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (like Keras or TensorFlow) and libraries (like scikit-learn).

Proven experience in data engineering, data science, and data analytics.

Expertise in SQL and experience with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Self-driven, ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment

Ability to deliver with little supervisionStrong communication and leadership skills.

Preference for candidates who have worked in the startup environment and have a passion for solving problems using AI.
