Let’s talk about you
The Senior Software Engineer is part of our "Empower" team. The Empower team supports customer-facing portals and mobile apps that enable customers to self-serve and interact with account management, service ordering, and payments.
To be successful you will possess:
An unequivocal commitment to the Aussie values and using them to make decisions.
3-5 years commercial PHP experience using a modern MVC framework.
Exceptional understanding of web technologies (HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript).
Good knowledge of databases, including schema design & query optimisation.
Experience with creating and consuming modern APIs.
VCS (git) experience.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology.
Ability to design and implement complex software solutions.
CI/CD experience highly regarded.
Laravel experience highly regarded.
PHP Unit experience highly regarded.

Building end-to-end solutions across a variety of channels (e.g., internal tools and apps, customer-facing websites, and apps), utilising industry best practices and leveraging the latest technologies where possible.
Automating business processes.

Solving interesting performance and architectural challenges.
Writing clean, maintainable code, following best practices and adhering to coding standards.
Working on special projects as directed by the Software Engineering Manager.
Providing mentoring to junior members of the team.
Participating in sprints/iterations.
Performing code reviews.
