Job Summary:
Understanding of the genome of a tumor is pivotal in providing the right therapeutic choice for a cancer patient. Illumina’s next generation sequencing technology has been foundational in the introduction of fields like FFPE tissue and liquid biopsy-based tumor profiling.
The successful candidate will be accountable for the success of the rapid targeted somatic testing solutions and tumor classification diagnostic strategy regionally.
The candidate will work cross-functionally with the AMR sales team, medical affairs, support, and with global marketing to capture and provide feedback on market trends, insights and opportunities related to this market.
The role reports to the Director, Clinical Segment Marketing AMR.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Decide on suitable strategies and objectives and assume responsibility by developing and controlling activities, dead‐ lines and budgets
Understand competitive landscape, market drivers and trends likely to influence adoption within this segment
Assess program performance and aim to maximize ROI and prepare reports for internal stakeholders
When required, develop and maintain strong customer connections at various levels in private and academic organizations
Being able to engage in a collaborative way with international Key Opinion Leaders
Support the development of business plans around new segment applications.
Demonstrate command of scientific and technical knowledge on all illumina’s solutions (Arrays and NGS)
Deep understanding of data protection directives and regulations in AMR
Identify opportunities for the development of new commercial collateral and tools
Maintain a collaborative and open working relationship with internal, cross-functional colleagues.
Represent the Company professionally, ethically, and morally at all times
Preferred Educational Background:
Bachelors degree or greater in Life Sciences MBA or other business degree advantageous
Preferred Experiential Background:
7+ years work experience in Life Sciences / Genomics or Clinical field, including 2+ years in Marketing, advanced degree can substitute for some work experience
Proven program management experience in the life science business
Proven ability to network at all levels within the customer organizations and in the broader marketplace
Self-motivated and self-directed individual who enjoys a challenging, relatively unstructured and dynamic work environment
Provide thought leadership in pursuing new and/or unconventional approaches to solve customer challenges, empowering and inspiring others to think and approach challenges in innovative ways
Demonstrated experience in successfully presenting complex concepts at all levels of an organization
Experience in developing customer targets and product positioning and messaging across multiple regional markets
Ability to objectively and critically analyze market and customer dynamics to uncover deep, meaningful insights
Identify change opportunities and develop clear and concise action plans to gain stakeholder commitment and increase followership
Ability to influence people and diverse stakeholder groups within a global, matrixed organization
High level of intellectual curiosity and sense of urgency

The estimated base salary range for the Sr. Staff Regional Segment Marketing Manager- Oncology Testing (Remote) role based in the United States of America is: $152,600 - $228,800. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
