Your Role

As An Assistant Accountant, You Are Responsible For

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support for the Finance function so that the finance activities are managed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

In Particular

  • Update and maintain the Pronto database to ensure accurate data is available to effectively administer accounts payable and broader finance functions
  • Review and verify documentation to ensure all relevant information is provided to ensure the accurate and timely payment of accounts to creditors in accordance with financial procedures
  • Provide up to date and relevant information for the payment team to be able to process timely and accurate payments to the creditors.

Non-negotiable requirements:

  • Bachelor and / or post graduate degree in Commerce, Finance or Economics.
  • Computer literate with strong Microsoft Office knowledge, particularly excel, and solid understanding of ERP accounting software, with experience in Pronto highly desirable.
  • A degree with post graduate qualifications will be well considered but not essential.
  • 4 years + experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role providing high levels of administrative support.
  • Experience with recording, reviewing and preparing reports using a number of MS Office products.
  • Demonstrated ability working within established systems and processes in performing a range of office administration activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to review processes and systems and recommend improvements.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate high levels of interpersonal skills and to communicate and present effectively with a variety of people from different levels.
  • Sound administration and organizational skills with proven ability to independently manage workloads.
  • Demonstrated time management skills, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and co-operatively in a team environment, be adaptable to a wide range of tasks with a capacity to build, develop and grow professional and personal skills
