Where You Will Work
Our global headquarters is in Phoenix, Arizona. Several hundred employees support our operations in finance, human resources, health and safety, information technology, planning, and more. Our flexible work program allows employees to work virtually as well as come together in person when needed at our Collaboration Hub in Phoenix and/or one of our site locations. Employees can work remotely from most states in the U.S., with the exception of California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma and South Carolina. Additional states may be excluded from remote work based on business factors. Should the position shift to in-person (office/site) work in the future, the company will offer relocation benefits at that time, so long as the position meets the established eligibility for these benefits.
Description
Under minimal supervision, provides design and drawing services, including but not limited to contour maps, cross sections, mine progress maps, mine designs, layouts, detail and assembly drawings, and schematics to support operations or the engineering unit at assigned site.
- Develops specifications, designs or drawings using engineering principals, established Company standards, procedures and instructions using Computer Aided Design (CAD)
- Quality Control. Reviews engineering drawings and supporting documents for adherence to established design standards; verifies completed work.
- Assist Engineers with design work as needed with minimal supervision. Working with azimuths, gradients, profile sizes, solid creation.
- Ability to work on different drawing types for the mines. Excavation, Drill & Blast, General Arrangement drawings, Massex, Special projects requested by management, etc.
- Mentoring other drafters. Assisting the team with design work.
- Guide the drafting team on design and/or CAD questions/concerns.
- Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Advanced technical training through the completion of a two (2) year trade/technical school program and five (5) years of experience in engineering design/drafting, OR
- Associate degree in Drafting and Design, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in engineering design/drafting.
- Possess knowledge of and skilled in the use of conventional drafting techniques, including terminology, symbols, legends and shading Knowledge of applicable computer hardware and software
- Ability to create and read engineering drawings or blueprints
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering
- Skilled in using 3D CAD hardware and software
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
What We Offer You
The estimated pay range for this role is currently $34.50 - $47.50/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
