Amyx is seeking to hire an Enterprise Architect to support our DLA Enterprise Architecture Support contract in DLA
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for supporting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Strategic Architecture (J6TA) in the development, integration, and maintenance of Enterprise Architecture (EA) frameworks. This role focuses on leveraging industry-standard tools such as MEGA HOPEX, Celonis, and Power BI to support DLA's Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA). The position requires expertise in process improvement, data integration, visualization, and strategic planning to support operational and strategic goals for DLA.The Enterprise Architect ensures alignment with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DODAF), Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), and DLA’s internal Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA). The role is critical to supporting business transformation, improving system interoperability, and driving decision-making processes across DLA's business functions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain DLA’s Enterprise Architecture (EA) in accordance with the DoD Architecture Framework (DODAF), Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA), and DLA's Enterprise Business Process Model (EBPM).
- Create Enterprise and Solution-Level Architectures, ensuring the alignment of the following architecture types:Business Architecture: Define DLA business processes, end-to-end (E2E) process flows, and the decomposition of critical business activities.
- Information Architecture: Identify key data exchanges and relationships between information systems.
- Application Architecture: Design system interfaces, API usage, and application-to-application workflows.
- Cybersecurity Architecture: Ensure information security principles are applied to architecture designs.
- Technology Architecture: Document technology stacks, lifecycles, and support for emerging technologies.
- Infrastructure Architecture:
- Address the IT infrastructure that supports DLA’s operational needs.
- Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA) Support- Support the alignment of DLA’s business processes, procedures, and activities with the DoD BEA.Identify, analyze, and map DLA’s E2E processes to the BEA's Core Business Missions (CBM)
- Visualization & Reporting: Use Power BI to develop dashboards and reports that visualize the health, status, and performance of DLA’s Enterprise Architecture.Create visual representations of Enterprise and Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA) activities, dependencies, and relationships.Develop dashboards for risk identification, process bottlenecks, and operational status using Power BI and Celonis. Identify and visualize process gaps, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvements using process mining tools like Celonis
- Data Integration & API Development: Leverage the MEGA HOPEX API to integrate with ServiceNow, Power BI, and other data repositories.Document and implement a methodology for the API-driven data exchange of enterprise architecture data.Establish repeatable processes for the automation of data refreshes for Power BI dashboards, including the development of pipelines for ingesting architecture data from external sources.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with DLA stakeholders, operational leads, and process owners to support architecture-related initiatives.Partner with system integrators, data owners, and DLA Program Managers (PMs) to align DLA’s Enterprise Architecture with the BEA.Facilitate and support architecture forums to gather use case opportunities and demonstrate the value of EA in driving DLA's strategic and operational objectives.Provide In-Process Reviews (IPRs) to DLA leadership to ensure full transparency of architectural deliverables, status, and roadmaps.
- Process Improvement & Analytics: Support process improvement by mapping, analyzing, and documenting DLA’s business processes using BPMN standards.Conduct End-to-End (E2E) process analysis to identify process gaps and inefficiencies.Perform rationalization of like applications and identify activities within solution architectures that correspond to DLA’s Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA).Use Celonis to mine, analyze, and visualize operational data for process improvements and decision support.
- Technology Research & Roadmap Development: Research emerging technology trends and recommend updates to DLA’s Technology Roadmap.Provide thought leadership on technology standards, frameworks, and methodologies that align with DLA’s Enterprise Architecture.Contribute to the development of DLA’s Technology Standards & Patterns, working with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and technical teams.Provide guidance and white papers on modern technologies, software, and architectural advancements that impact DLA.

Required:
- Strong knowledge of DoD Architecture Framework (DODAF), Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA), and Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN).
- Ability to work with stakeholders across DLA, DoD, and other federal entities to achieve alignment with the Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA).
- Ability to identify root causes, process dependencies, and operational inefficiencies.
