About the Role
GKN holds Product Life Cycle responsibility for several commercial engine designed products and produces components in many engine programs at many different GKN sites globally for both design/make and make-to-print components.
We are currently in search of Senior Project Leaders to join our teams of project leaders, with the opportunity to lead key strategic projects across our commercial engine portfolios.
These roles offers growth potential, allowing you to take on various project leader assignments along the way.
As Senior Project Leader within our commercial engine project portfolio, you will be responsible for managing a Trade Study project, prior project launch, or Product Development project, including product realization and production industrialization, or Product & Production Support, or Product Field Repair development project. Your primary objective will be to ensure timely delivery of the project within specified quality standards and budget in the specific project directive. Key to your role is the implementation of GKN's unique technologies and expertise, targeting strategic products aligning with GKN Engines growth plan. Your success as a project leader will contribute to the value creation for GKN and the commercial engine programs, in which GKN is an engine share partner.
You lead, motivate and drive your global cross-functional team throughout trade study, design, manufacturing and procurement phase as well as insertion of new technologies from life cycle gate 0-7 and corresponding customer gates, while maintaining a business-oriented mind set. Your contribution will also be pivotal in strengthening GKN's collaboration with external partners and OEM´s, fostering lasting technical relationships and establishing our reputation as an exceptional partner in the aerospace industry building our “best partners in the sky” footprint. GKN is committed in developing necessary technologies and de-risking a novel product architecture for the future product platforms.
Job Accountabilities
• Accountable for the project deliverables on-time, within scope, to budget with right quality on all output
• Lead, coordinate and organize all aspects of the project, including but not limited to, planning, documentation, resource allocation, risk management and stakeholder management
• Lead and motivate the project team for flawless execution of project by promoting an atmosphere in the team that champions both physical and mental health, safety and wellbeing
• Ensure governance and quality adherence in accordance with the applicable GKN Aerospace process standards and policies
• Inform, report and escalate to the project steering committee
Job Qualifications
Essential:
• MSc in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrated senior leadership skills, with typically 5-10 years of relevant experience
• Fluent in Swedish and English
• Excellent analytical skills
Desirable:
• Certified project leadership according to PMI or IPMA standards
• Knowledge in System-Set-Based approach and/or APQP
• Experience of working aerospace industry, within R&D or MRO environment

This position is based in Trollhättan, Sweden, as such, the applicant should be able to gain the right to live and work in Sweden. Travel to other locations within Sweden as well as EU and US is expected.
