Responsibilities
Ryan Transportation and Shamrock Trading Corporation are seeking an International Carrier Account Manager to support cross-border shipping. The objective of the International Carrier Account Manager (ICAM) position is to further identify, develop, manage, and utilize specific high-profile cross border carriers in a strategic and targeted manner for Ryan Transportation. This position will work closely with Account Managers, Director of Sales, Director of Carrier Operations, Business Development Managers, Pricing Analyst, VP of Operations and others to strategically manage the relationships and fleets of large-scale carriers in an effort to align their capacity with high volume, specialized, and key Ryan Transportation customers and lanes. This position will also work with our sales and pricing team to assist in RFP/pricing efforts in their given markets of expertise. The ICAM will report directly to the Director of Carrier Operations with oversight from the VP of Operations.
Prospecting, solicitation, and procurement of key carriers across multiple levels, modes, and geographical regions
Qualify and negotiate with carriers to support existing and obtain new business and strategically align your portfolio of carriers with our customer’s freight
Work with pricing team and carrier sales floor to develop sales strategy for a specific region of the country and/or cross border lanes. Execute communication/marketing plan to educate the sales floor on the capacity
Build strong relationships with carriers key representatives including dispatchers, management, drivers and other operational personnel
Identify areas of improvement/operational inefficiencies with carriers and provide/execute problem solving action plans
Manage daily lane/region operations with key carriers
Become the subject matter expert (SME) for given lanes and regions relating to carrier operations, pricing, current and future capacity
Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years demonstrated success within the Carrier Sales profession preferred
Ability to sell cross-functionally throughout all levels of an organization
Excellent relationship building and negotiation skills
Strong customer relations ability with analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and alongside team members in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
Computer literate in Microsoft Suite, along with basic knowledge and understanding of PC applications. Data entry skills and experience required
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills to meet customer/company deadlines
Bilingual skills with fluency in Spanish and English are a must (must be able to speak, read and write both languages)
