Job Description:

   

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Kernel Device Driver Developer to join our team and play a pivotal role in building kernel driver software for networking devices, with a focus on RDMA transactions. If you are an experienced C programmer with a deep understanding of networking drivers and a passion for optimizing RDMA performance, we want to hear from you. Join us in shaping the future of high-performance networking technology.

Key Responsibilities

- Linux Kernel Coordination: Manage upstream contributions and ensure the kernel driver code stays up-to-date with kernel.org and downstream drivers stay up-to-date with on-going changes in the kernel.

- Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with Linux distribution vendors (e.g. SuSE, Red Hat) to ensure the drivers are smoothly integrated into their distribution and certification programs.

- Certification Compliance: Ensure compliance with distribution requirements and policies

- External Code Review: Review and merge community contributions, following open-source best practices

- Code Integration: Address bugs, security vulnerabilities, and feature requests from internal teams and the broader open-source community.

- Driver Development: Design and develop Linux kernel device drivers, with a strong emphasis on networking drivers and RDMA technologies.

- Optimization: Continuously review and optimize kernel driver code for RDMA performance improvements.

- Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for driver architectures, procedures, and processes.

- Problem Solving: Utilize exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills to analyze and resolve driver-related issues.

- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize RDMA transactions within the networking stack.

- Code Review: Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- Programming Skills: Excellent proficiency in C programming is essential.

- Experience: 8+ years experience as Software Developer

- Linux Kernel Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Linux kernel development and device drivers.

- Networking Drivers: Proven experience in developing networking drivers.

- RDMA Expertise: Desirable experience with RDMA technologies and transactions.

- Documentation: Ability to create detailed documentation for driver designs and procedures.

- Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills, especially in the context of kernel drivers.

- Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

- Networking Protocols: Familiarity with networking protocols and technologies beyond RDMA.

- Performance Tuning: Experience in tuning and optimizing networking performance.

- Linux Kernel Modules: Proficiency in Linux kernel modules.

USD Annual Salary: $117,500.00 - $270,000.00
