Summary:
Age of Learning, Inc. is looking for an outstanding Senior Data Analyst of K5 Data Reporting to conduct analyses and reporting of quantitative data related to the implementation and efficacy of our digital education programs. This role combines expertise in data analysis, interacting with customers (schools administrators) to share their district’s success with our products, data engineering, and reporting to drive insights in our educational products.
The Senior Data Analyst of K5 Data Reporting is responsible for overseeing the creation and delivery of easy-to-consume and impactful reports for K12 stakeholders both internally and externally. This role requires collaboration with Sales representatives, interaction with school administrators and working with a team of data analysts and data engineers in an agile, scrum-based environment. The Senior Data Analyst will establish and maintain processes for report creation, ensuring visualizations and data relay are effective and user-friendly, as well as monitoring the use and relevance of reports and overseeing the deprecation of outdated reports.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead data analysis and reporting efforts to improve educational outcomes and drive expansion with K5 learners. The successful candidate will play a key role in measuring and demonstrating the effectiveness of our products, directly contributing to the company’s mission of improving children’s learning outcomes on a broad scale.
Responsibilities:Reporting & Visualization: Analyze and interpret complex data to generate insights, identify patterns, and effectively visualize efficacy and growth for learners using Age of Learning educational programs. Create and deliver beautiful and intuitive reports that communicate the story of successful implementations and the resulting outstanding student outcomes for key stakeholders and directly with clients (both virtually and traveling to the districts in person), ensuring the data provides clarity and supports strategic initiatives. Build, maintain, and improve data dashboards using tools like Tableau to visualize key behaviors and performance metrics and make them readily available and easy to use for internal stakeholders. Sales Insights: Develop a deep understanding of the business and sales process, identifying opportunities for growth through data. Conduct detailed analysis on customer behaviors, and usage trends, with a focus on actionable insights resulting in improving sales effectiveness and learning outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement:Act as the primary point of contact for K5 internal stakeholders regarding data reporting needs. Collaborate with the efficacy research team to ensure alignment on metrics and accuracy of data being reported. Work closely with sales and success teams to engage with customers to share insights regarding their school districts that celebrate their successes and offer actionable feedback for continued improvement in their schools, thereby supporting Sales in contract renewals. Partner with customer success, and product teams to ensure insights are in alignment inter-departmentally and optimally serving company growth strategies. Lead regular stakeholder meetings to present findings, gather feedback, and iterate on reporting to ensure it meets evolving needs. Interact directly with school administrators to share findings of benefits and achievements observed as a result of utilizing Age of Learning educational programs. Process Improvement and Automation: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data by working closely with data engineers and other analysts to validate and clean data. Work with data analysts, data engineers, and researchers in an agile workflow, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently in a timely manner. Continuously improve the data collection and analysis processes, finding ways to automate manual workflows (e.g., data quality checks and validation processes), reduce inefficiencies, and improve documentation of data definitions and lineage. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data analytics and visualization, implementing improvements to reporting and analysis practices. Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Education, or a related field 5+ years of experience in data analysis, particularly in analyzing and visualizing data Strong experience in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and statistical programming languages (e.g., Python, R, STATA) with the ability to create clear, impactful visualizations and storytelling Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders, both internally and externally Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods Fluent in complex SQL queries on large data sets Data transformation and modeling using dbt Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data quality and storytelling Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Travel required 10%-20% of the time Preferred Skills:Experience in K-12 education or EdTech sector is a strong plus. Experience working with teams in an agile, scrum-based environment. Experience working with data warehouse technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) Familiarity with education-specific metrics and reporting requirements. Strong project management skills to individually triage and prioritize requests. Total Compensation:
The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position is $130,000 USD to $160,000 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
