Job description

Elevate Patient Financial Solutions has an exciting career opportunity available as a Database Administrator III. This position will be remote. The Full Time schedule for this role will be Monday-Friday, flexibility throughout the work week is required.

Summary

The purpose of this position is to perform SQL database administration functions including design new or enhance existing enterprise database systems, maintain or develop critical databases processes, perform database components upgrades, execute backups and recoveries, plan and execute database refreshes, apply and maintain database security best practices, perform support and help desk tasks. It also requires defining and adopting best practices for each of the SQL DBA functions. The position is responsible for maintaining high availability of databases for the enterprise.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing requirements
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Review and rewrite high performance SQL queries using Joins, Cross Apply, Aggregate Queries, Merge, Pivot
  • Migrate Stored Procedures, Functions and Views
  • Review database designs to identify proper indexing and constraints
  • Perform SQL query tuning and performance optimization on complex inefficient queries
  • Provide guidance in the use of table variable, temporary table, CTE appropriately to deal with large datasets
  • Analyze complex queries for any deadlock resulting due to conflicts
  • Collaborate with other DBAs on database design and performance enhancements
  • Debug existing code and troubleshoot for issues
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest database features, techniques, and technologies
  • Support current business applications including the implementation of bug fixes as needed
  • Able to multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Able to meet deadlines set in project planning
  • Effectively communicate progress through the project execution phase
  • Follow industry and company standard coding practices
  • Produce technical and application documentation
  • Test database process for future enhancements and bug fixes
  • Assist support analysts and developers with issues they are unable to resolve
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by meeting customer needs in a courteous and timely manner
  • Work with a highly dynamic team focused towards Digital Transformation
  • Understand the domain and business processes to successfully perform SQL Server database administration tasks (project or maintenance related) in Azure.
  • Provide work status and coordinate with other Database administrators and developers.
  • Manage customer deliverables and regularly report the status via Weekly/Monthly reviews
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications And Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities.

  • Minimum 7 years of work-related experience with SQL Server databases, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS and ETL. If candidate has relevant education in computer science, computer information systems, or related field, lack of experience can be supplemented by education as follows:
    • Microsoft Certifications – 1 year
    • Associate’s Degree – 1 year
    • Bachelor’s Degree – 2 years
    • Master’s Degree – 3 years
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a SQL Server database administrator in Azure
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience creating and supporting Azure Data Factory data pipelines, DataBricks workspaces, and security groups in Azure.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using DevOps CI/CD in Azure.
  • Experience in creating, maintaining and supporting database processes using Microsoft SQL Server versions 2016 and above.
  • Proficient at mid-level with the following: SQL Server, relational databases, T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Data warehousing, ETL, Azure Data Factory.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform above listed essential job functions.
