JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Self Determination is responsible for leading all aspects of Financial Management Services (FMS) provided by Aveanna’s Self Determination department, a dedicated, self-contained service team that works under the larger umbrella of Aveanna Healthcare Support Services in California. The position will ensure the highest level of participant satisfaction and ongoing development of policies & procedures, referral growth, revenue growth and collaboration with location leadership to ensure service excellence.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:Full P&L responsibility for the SDP department throughout California. Mentor and lead the SDP Location Director (a direct report) Interpret and Implement state directives Conduct in-services, trainings and represent company at local, regional, and state SDP functions and meetings in the community and at Regional Centers Responsible for policy, procedures, and best practices of the SDP department Ensure department compliance with state and federal FMS laws, rules, and regulations. Ensure department compliance with state and federal labor laws Strive to innovate and improve customer service and efficiency in the SDP department Analyze market drivers and strategize to grow census, achieve satisfaction and revenue goals Performs additional duties as assigned
Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field; equivalent work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
Familiar with payroll processing and tax withholding
At least three years' experience in a leadership role
At least three years’ experience in Self Determination Program services
Working knowledge/familiarity with California’s Department of Developmental Services
Familiarity with Regional Center structure and operations
Proficient in Microsoft suite of products including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Ability to travel as needed throughout California
Valid Driver's License and Acceptable MVR
Must have reliable transportation

Ability to gain proficiency with all company software
Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required
Physical Requirements:Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English
Must be able to travel throughout California; company does not provide vehicles or transportation
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of 25 pounds
Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting
Must be able to sit and climb stairs
Must have visual and hearing acuity
Must have keen sense of smell and touch
