About the Position
This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, proactive and experienced Associate Director, HRBP to join BeiGene Korea, based in Seoul. Reporting to the Senior Director, Regional Head of HR, APAC, this position will lead the HR function to support Korea market and other new markets within the APAC region as the business evolves, contributing to the growth of our APAC region. This position requires both strategic and hands-on HR business partnering and operational experience. The incumbent will be accountable for planning and executing HR goals & strategies and execution of work autonomously, efficiently and with high quality. You will play a key role in engaging with key business stakeholders to achieve people objectives and priorities and also working collaboratively with the Center of Excellence (COE) HR functions, who are overseas-based, to enabling results through the broader HR teams. Your solid HR leadership and experience along with your excellent communication and effective stakeholder management skills, the ability to challenge the status quo, your flexible, agile and can-do mindset, as well as sound knowledge on Korea employment legislations and Labour Union experience are valuable and key to success.

Main Responsibilities

· As the Country HR Representative, oversee and be accountable for the HR function in the markets. The position holder will be part of the Korea Country Leadership Team, and a member

of the APAC HRBP team.

· Align with the country business goals and global and regional APAC HR goals, plan and execute annual HR goals and strategies for your markets ensuring delivery of KPIs against the agreed timelines and measures.

· Proactively working with business leaders to understand and analyze their business needs and Annual Operational & Headcount Plans, providing effective inputs for optimal organization design and planning.

· Coordinate and facilitate talent review calibration and year-end performance calibration processes for the business functions in line with the HR cycle.

· As an advocate to promote talent and career development via individual development plan (IDP) processes.

· Drive and coach people leaders on performance management processes and employee relations matters, provide proactive & effective advice and practices whilst ensuring compliance of relevant employment legislations.

· Execute the annual HR cycles and activities effectively and timely, including but not limited to:

  • Performance objective setting, mid-year review and year-end review evaluations and calibration sessions,

  • Annual salary review, promotion and equity cycles,

  • Engagement survey and focus group activities; and

  • Employees on boarding and off boarding processes.

· Play a vital role to share Korea market insights and recommendations to our broader Center of Excellence (COE) HR teams, who are based in China and APAC countries, including Talent Acquisition team, Total Rewards team, HR Operations & payroll team and HR IS team; working collaboratively to ensure HR infrastructures, local HR guidelines and policies are established for Korea effectively, in line with the relevant legislations.

· Lead and drive special HR initiatives, projects and information sessions/training as required.

· Take on new market, when assigned, and provide HRBP support. Provide regular operational feedback to HR and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for continuous improvements.

Qualification Required:

Experience & Qualifications:

· Bachelor degree in HR Management, Business Administration or equivalent.

· With 10 years+ experience in HRBP and generalist in multinational companies - both strategically and operationally.

· With 5 years+ in senior HR capacity such as accountable for a HR function or a sub-HR function, involvement in leadership team or extended leadership team.

· Experience gained from multinational pharmaceutical / biotechnology companies preferred.

· Enjoy working fast-paced, busy and dynamic environment.

· Strong execution of work with quality and within timeline.

· Sound knowledge on Korean employment legislations, HR policies and external market practices.

· Experience or exposure to a unionized working environment is preferred.

· Experience in supporting with another country in APAC region is an advantage.

· Experience in building HR function / in start-up is an advantage.

· May require ad hoc travel.

· Other systems - Concur, SAP Fiori, DocuSign, etc.

· A quick learner for new technology and app.
