As a Global Head Customs and Trade Compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring Sandoz's adherence to all applicable import and export laws and regulations across our sites, affiliates, and development centers. Your main objective will be to ensure compliance while also implementing cost-effective measures. Join us as a Founder of ournewSandoz and Lek!  

Your key responsibilities: 

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to: 

  • Develop a Customs and Trade Compliance (CTC) Strategy for Sandoz, in line with Sandoz business strategy.
  • Develop, document and maintain internal CTC policies and standards according to legal regulations.  Ensure that these are implemented locally in each entity, through the deployment of an effective trade compliance program to maintain and continuously improve customs & trade compliance standards.
  • Develop and implement training program for CTC community.
  • Design process and tools, including data management and ERP functionality to effectively and efficiently implement standards in day-to-day operations. Provide a framework/operating model for compliance for the countries in the form of tools and templates.
  • Design and implement CTC governance structure with clear accountabilities and responsibilities, for global and local teams.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and consistency in approaches across Legal, Technical Operations, Commercial Operations, Finance, Indirect Tax, Tax/ Funds Flow, Purchasing, etc.
  • Ensure alignment and best practice sharing.
  • Secure external focus by continuously identify regulatory requirements and changes. Represent Sandoz in trade organizations and ensure interests are represented.  

 

What you will bring to the role: 

 

  • Higher education (master’s degree) in International Trade, Business Administration or Law.
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in role with global responsibility in multi-national industry or minimum 7-10 years’ experience in operational customs and trade role with regional responsibility in EU, North America, Asia (preferably in Health Care, Consumer Goods, Chemical or other process industry).
  • Experience in team development and leadership skills including influencing key stakeholders.
  • Technical knowledge/ understanding of import/export as well as sanction screening applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of Business Processes within the pharmaceutical industry, especially regulatory controlled processes.
  • Excellence in global program and project management, highly experienced in change management.
  • Track‐record of working within a matrix organizations and leading delivery of results.
  • Intercultural experience and ability to act in a complex and rapidly changing business environment.
  • Fluent knowledge of English (written and spoken).
