About the Position

The Strategic Communications Manager will execute Geneva’s communications and marketing strategy to enhance visibility, engagement, and growth. This dynamic role is essential for elevating Geneva’s brand presence and reinforcing organizational value proposition through strategic communications, media relations, and marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate is an energized strategic thinker with strong writing skills, a talent for translating complex scientific topics into engaging content, and the agility to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This is a remote Corporate position.

Salary Range

$100,000 - $115,000. Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Communications

  • Understanding and segmenting target audiences to tailor communications and drive growth.
  • Planning and executing strategic communications campaigns to support organizational objectives and goals.

Executive Communications and Leadership Support

  • Develop and implement strategic communications initiatives that support Geneva’s Leadership, Board of Directors, advisory groups, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead Board engagement initiatives, including meeting management, development of onboarding materials, and preparation of Board and committee meeting documents.

Media and Government Relations

  • Develop and execute a high-impact media relations strategy to elevate Geneva’s reputation and advance organizational goals.
  • Develop and manage materials for government relations and advocacy, including position papers, talking points, and presentations.

Branding and Content Development

  • Serve as a brand champion, ensuring that all communications and marketing efforts consistently reflect and enhance Geneva’s values, mission, and impact.
  • Develop and implement branding strategies that strengthen Geneva’s market presence and ensure all content aligns with organizational objectives.

Market Research and Insights

  • Conduct market research and translate complex topics into actionable insights that inform communication strategies and support Geneva’s growth.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Geneva’s goals, capabilities, and programs to ensure integration into all communications efforts.

Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Oversee the Marketing and Communications team, including hiring, performance reviews, and team development.
  • Represent Geneva at stakeholder meetings, conferences, trade shows, site visits, and events with non-profit, academic, and industry organizations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Business Development, Recruiting, and Senior Leadership) to ensure cohesive, aligned messaging across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public affairs, or related equivalent work experience required.
  • 5-7 years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing, preferably within government, healthcare, life sciences, or nonprofit sectors.
  • Proven experience in strategic communications, media relations, and branding.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills, with experience translating complex topics into clear, impactful content.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in stakeholder engagement.
  • Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate complex projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership and development, Ability to write story-driven content about complex technical subjects to engage target audiences and enhance Geneva’s public profile.
