JOIN OUR OLX DATA ENGINEERING TEAM

Become a part of an agile team of data specialists taking care of massive amounts of data and groundbreaking technologies. As a domain data engineer in Marketing Technology, you will be responsible for delivering data via key pipelines that can support the Marketing teams in making decisions on targeting, sizing, budgets and be a key person who will deliver the insights of the marketing campaigns

While being part of a central team of Data Engineers across Lisbon, Berlin, and Poznan, you will be embedded in the cross-functional MarTech team. You will work closely with product managers, software engineers, product analysts, data scientists, and marketing stakeholders to own and deliver accurate, timely, and insightful data to the marketing team.


What you will be doing:
  • Enable efficient consumption of domain data as a product by delivering and promoting strategically designed actionable datasets and data models
  • Build, maintain, and improve rock-solid data pipelines using a broad range of technologies like AWS Redshift, Trino (formerly PrestoSQL), Python, Spark, Airflow, and Kinesis streaming
  • Support teams without data engineers with building decentralized data solutions and product integrations, for example around DynamoDB.
  • Follow and promote Data Mesh principles around decentralized data ownership and ‘data as a product’
  • Act as a data ambassador promoting the value of data and our data platform among engineering teams and enabling cooperation
  • Continuously look for opportunities to integrate data into our end products
  • Cooperate with product teams to streamline source data so that data is cleaner earlier in the process
  • Enforce privacy and security standards (privacy by design)
  • Increase data literacy of the engineering organization by hosting trainings and mentoring other engineers (both less experienced data engineers and software engineers)

  • Who we are looking for:
  • +2 years experience building complex data pipelines and working with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to think creatively; highly driven and self-motivated
  • Good SQL language regardless of the underlying data technology. Writes efficient, easy-to-read, and crisp SQL code.
  • Relevant experience with designing for scale and data growth in terms of storage and performance
  • Potential to build rock-solid Python applications - writes understandable and maintainable code
  • Relevant experience with cloud data technologies (AWS, GCP, or Azure Cloud), such as Redshift, Athena, Spark
  • Knowledge and curiosity about other big data technologies and tools
  • Relevant experience working with Marketing, advertising teams are a plus
  • Experience with data consulting and managing stakeholders are also a plus
  • Relevant experience with analytics and defining metrics
  • Relevant experience with measuring data quality
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English
