Eventbrite is seeking an Android Engineer to join us in our mission to bring the world together through live experiences. Last year alone, our platform processed over 150 million tickets across over 3 million events organized by our creators. Our perfect candidate will leverage their years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining mobile applications that run on both Android and iOS platforms.
THE TEAM
You will be joining a dedicated team of professionals focused on optimizing the authentication and sign-up experience for our users while ensuring that our platform is protected from threats posed by bots and bad actors. Our team is made up of experts in identity, fraud prevention, data science, and user behavior analysis. We work collaboratively to develop and implement capabilities that delight users and thwart attackers. Our goal is to provide a safe and secure environment for our users to discover and attend events, and we are looking for someone who shares our passion for this mission. 
THE ROLE
You will have end to end ownership of the customer authentication and sign-up experience for millions of Eventbrite creators and attendees. You will join our mobile engineering team in India and help make Eventbrite an indispensable platform for finding the best events worldwide. Our technology spans web, mobile, APIs, ensuring a seamless experience around user onboarding the app for the Login/Signup processes. While working on the app, the expectation is to be flexible around android/IOS technologies. As a people-focused organization, we support a culture of inclusion, mentorship, and continuous learning. You'll work alongside product management, product design, and other engineers to gain a deep understanding of how users explore our inventory and build systems to effectively satisfy their needs. Pair programming, weekly demos, tech talks, are core elements of our team and product building process.
YOU WILL
  • Develop and maintain mobile applications using Android SDK and React Native for Android and iOS platforms.
  • Architect, design, and implement complex features ensuring performance, responsiveness, and scalability of the application.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, backend engineers, and QA to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while following best practices in mobile development.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback to peers, and mentor junior engineers on mobile development practices.
  • Debug and resolve complex issues related to mobile app performance, memory management, and network efficiency.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in mobile development, including new Android releases and React Native updates.
  • Participate in agile/scrum development cycles, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality features.
  • Contribute to the design and development of reusable libraries and components to streamline development.
  • Ensure the security, scalability, and performance of the mobile applications.
THE SKILLSET
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in Android development using Java/Kotlin and React Native.
  • Proficiency with Android SDK and common frameworks like Retrofit, Dagger, Jetpack components.
  • Strong experience with React Native, Redux, and other related frameworks for cross-platform mobile development.
  • Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and working with backend systems.
  • Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns (MVVM, MVC, MVP) and best practices for mobile design and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks (Apium, JUnit, Espresso, Jest, etc.) and a test-driven development approach.
  • Experience with Git and modern CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of build and deployment processes for Android (Gradle) and React Native (Expo/Native code).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and work closely with global teams
