Our regional headquarters are located in beautiful Frederick Maryland where the region is currently comprised of 9 retail stores, 2 warehouse locations and has roughly 300 employees. We hope to expand our retail footprint and believe we have capacity for upwards of 15-20 stores within our territory.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a smaller region, but have the support and infrastructure of one of the largest Goodwill’s in the network, Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA). After the merger in 2020, Goodwill of Monocacy Valley has been able to grow retail revenue and stabilize operations with the support of GCNA’s innovative best practices.

Position Description:
Supports a multitude of marketing and communications initiatives for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. This includes coordinating departmental projects and providing logistical support. Assists with project activation, creating digital content, monitoring social media, facilitating signage and production, and managing public relations logistics. Working under the direction of marketing team leaders and regional leadership, helps implement marketing strategies through social media and email campaigns, provides on-site public relations support, and contributes to various creative production and communication tasks as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the guidance of marketing leadership, activates on the execution of marketing and communication functions in the GIMV region for Goodwill and affiliated entities.
- Maintains and updates social media, e-mail, and other content calendars for regional promotional efforts.
- Ideates content and imagery for locally-based social media accounts.
- Prepares content/copy and imagery for locally based e-mail communications.
- Obtains photography and videography and provides basic graphic development of supporting imagery for content needs.
- Partners and collaborates with MARCOM leadership to support in the development of external communications, including newsletters, brochures and flyers, website content, videos, speeches and presentations, announcements, invitations, annual reports, and more.
- Partners with local leadership to identify and recommend content, media opportunities and other promotional opportunities.
- Supports in the gathering of marketing insights, data, and other metrics to track and evaluate performance.
- Works within team project management software (Asana) to update tasks/projects.
- Partners with local leadership to support in-person activations, as-needed.
- Provides support and marketing activation with sports sponsorships.
- Supports local vendor printing and distribution, as-needed.
- Provides day-to-day logistics support for department portfolio managers once projects are activated.
- Monitors incoming project requests to identify areas of immediate support when needed.
- Provides on-site public relations support for media segments and other communications needs.
- Supports in the writing of organizational communications.
- Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
- Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business, or another related field.
- Demonstrated minimum of 2 years marketing, communications or other relevant experience in a professional setting.
- Ability to prioritize and guide tactical functions with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated multitasking and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated experience with entry-level design and photography skills.
- Demonstrated experience in social media and e-mail content development and platform execution.
- Demonstrated experience working with e-mail software platforms, including backend set up and list management.
- Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position.
