Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a Cloud Efficiency & Optimization Integration Engineer to join their team! As a Senior Cloud Efficiency & Optimization Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for enhancing the performance and efficiency of integration services within the government agency's public-facing Marketplace. This AWS-hosted platform integrates approximately 35 systems, requiring expertise in cloud architecture, integration, and optimization. Your work will directly support the agency’s mission and goals by ensuring seamless system operations, robust security, and future scalability. Collaborating with multiple vendors and internal teams, you will lead efforts to optimize over 70 web services (APIs) and applications, ensuring maximum efficiency and compliance with standards.
Integration Strategy and Planning
- Develop and execute strategies to align integration efforts with agency objectives
- Analyze and design cloud architecture to enhance service and application integration
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure system requirements support seamless operations
System Integration and Optimization
- Lead the integration of new services, applications, and APIs within AWS infrastructure
- Evaluate and troubleshoot workflow issues, implementing corrective actions for efficiency
- Optimize cloud resources for cost-effectiveness, performance, and security
- Automate tasks using tools like AWS Lambda and CloudFormation
Collaboration with Stakeholders
- Work with internal teams and vendors to achieve seamless API and application integration
- Facilitate communication between stakeholders to align integration goals
- Ensure vendor services meet technical and performance standards
Security, Compliance, and Standards
- Conduct security assessments to ensure compliance with IAM, VPC, and encryption protocols
- Collaborate on data governance and security policy maintenance
- Align integration efforts with open systems architecture and cloud security best practices
Continuous Improvement and Change Management
- Lead change management initiatives to adopt new cloud technologies and processes
- Review and enhance cloud architecture to support system expansions and capabilities
- Evaluate emerging technologies to improve integration capabilities
Documentation and Reporting
- Document architectural designs and integration methodologies for compliance
- Prepare reports on system performance, vendor contributions, and optimization efforts
- Present findings and strategies to stakeholders
Leadership and Training
- Provide technical leadership in architecture and integration design discussions
- Train and mentor team members on cloud technologies and optimization strategies
Strategic Planning and Resource Management
- Participate in strategic planning for future cloud capabilities and expansions
- Assist in resource allocation and budget planning for cloud initiatives
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant job experience is required
- 7 years of overall IT experience is required
- Experience with:
- Cloud architecture design (AWS, Azure)
- System integration and troubleshooting
- Security assessment and risk management
- API integration and management
- Strategic planning and resource management
- Project management and collaboration with stakeholders
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices
- Knowledge of machine learning in cloud environments
- Agile methodologies and government contracting experience
- A Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) certification is preferred
Education/Certification Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is required
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification is required
- A Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification is required
Clearance Requirements
