Salary: $28.85 – $37.21 per hour (based on experience)

What You'll Be Doing
As a Machinist, you will operate and program advanced CNC equipment, primarily focusing on NC Mills. You’ll work with state-of-the-art technology to produce precision parts for a variety of applications. Your role will be essential to ensuring machine shop operations run smoothly, with an emphasis on quality, efficiency, and safety. You’ll be expected to work independently, take initiative, and contribute to the overall success of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program and operate NC Mills, utilizing proficiency in G-code and conversational programming.
- Set up machines and create fixtures for individual parts.
- Determine appropriate speeds and feeds based on material type and tooling.
- Read and interpret both standard and metric blueprints, as well as GD&T specifications.
- Use machine shop measuring instruments such as OD/ID micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers, and scales to check parts for accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine or part issues as they arise.
- Maintain safe operation by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with team members, particularly across shifts, to ensure continuity in production.
- Work in a rotating shift schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Perform additional duties as necessary, adapting to changing work requirements.
Ideal Candidate
Education:
- A technical degree in Machine Shop is preferred.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience working with manual lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Strong knowledge of CNC equipment and programming software such as Esprit or MasterCam.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Prior experience working with blueprints for assembly or fabrication.
- Ability to work overtime and adjust to rotating shifts as required.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in G-code and conversational programming.
- Skilled in using machine shop tools and measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Solid understanding of speeds, feeds, and tooling for various materials.
- Good working knowledge of math, geometry, and machine shop operations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
