Responsibilities:
The Home Infusion Senior Pharmacy Technician is cross-trained under the supervision of a pharmacist to perform sterile compounding, assemble supplies for patient delivery, purchase medications and supplies from vendors, complete intake activities, track DME, participate in accounts payable and receivable activities, and participate in patient billing activities. This role is required to maintain skill and competency in all job functions abiding by local, state, and federal laws and accreditation regulations.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Required qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required.
3. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential required.
4. At least four years of experience in infusion or hospital pharmacy required.
5. At least two years of experience in sterile compounding required.
Preferred qualification:
1. Knowledge of 340B program operations and compliance preferred.
2. Experience in Caretend electronic medical records (EMR) system preferred.
3. Experience in pharmacy medication and/or supply inventory management preferred.
4. Experience in insurance eligibility and prior authorization activities preferred.
5. Additional certifications in relevant areas of practice through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred (i.e., Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT), Inventory Management, etc.).
