Job Description

The Senior Specialist, Learning and Development, working without any appreciable supervision, is responsible for the planning, implementing, and coordinating training and development activities, with fairness and consistency in a timely manner. This role will participate in the design of engaging training materials in various formats and own the delivery of Learning and Development special projects. Additionally, the role will also be a subject matter expert on matters pertaining to Learning and Development, advising leaders and consulting with teams on workforce skill gap analysis, training curriculum development, etc. to ensure a positive work environment across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops enterprise-level training programs and online learning pathways for employees on leadership, general skills and competencies, workplace conduct, etc. to achieve increased team and employee performance.
  • Implements testing of new training programs and provides valuable feedback to ensure successful future training deployment initiatives. Guides specialists/ associates to monitor and evaluate the progress of trainees and the effectiveness of training using both formal and informal, written, and other evaluation tools.
  • Demonstrates expertise in Learning and Development subjects such as need gap assessment, curriculum development, selecting delivery mechanisms, and training delivery along with a strong understanding of related concepts and principles. Coaches and guides senior leaders on matters related to training and skill development of the team.
  • Owns the delivery of enterprise-wide Learning and Development special projects involving the development of innovative solutions to deal with complex problems in the domains of training design and delivery, skill gap analysis, curriculum design, etc. consistent with organizational objectives and long-term strategy.
  • Consults with leaders from other functions, departments, and external partners for formulating effective responses for all types of workforce training needs and translate them into learning opportunities. Supports the development and maintenance of appropriate certification programs as per enterprise needs along with the selection of the appropriate training strategy and delivery methods based on the learning principles, audience, budget, and learning need.
  • Provides advisory and consultation services on end-to-end employee training needs, and related issues as per organizational practices, procedures, and processes and in line with the required standards and timelines as the organization’s principal Subject Matter Expert on the domain. Represents the organization when dealing with external consultants/vendors and other agencies and ensures that the organizational interests and objectives are supported.
  • Determines the objectives and approach for internal continuous improvement projects to develop solutions and improvements to initiatives and programs across the Learning and Development function in partnership with HR/Business leaders and cross-functional teams whilst ensuring coherence with the organization’s long-term plans.
  • Designs standards, controls, processes, and templates for the maintenance of accurate and confidential records and data related to Learning and Development matters along with the associated reports and analytics to monitor training trends, learning and course assessment scores, and identify areas for improvement or intervention.
  • Participates in the design and development of enterprise-wide training programs for multiple cohorts (e.g., new hire orientation program) leveraging multiple engaging training materials in various formats such as e-modules, instructor-led, webinars, and blended learning to meet enterprise needs and in alignment with best practices and training trends to maximize engagement and learning retention.
  • Works closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gain an in-depth understanding of the content and knowledge to be transferred to the targeted audience. Supports in the maintenance and updates to onboarding, off-boarding, learning content, courseware, related performance tools and instructional manuals, and preceptorship program training materials. Schedules periodic course reviews and any updates needed; schedule the expiration of training courses, if appropriate.
  • Managing the L&D internal communication.
  • Coordination of training specialists.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience with a Master’s degree or 8 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Development or a related field.
  • Recognized knowledge of skills development.
  • English advanced proficiency.
  • Key LMS setup activities
  • Assure STPS regulations accomplishment
