About the Job:
The EPIC Revenue Cycle Application Architect will plan and achieve the design, implementation, and optimization of features within all Revenue Cycle Applications, with a primary focus on Billing (PB, HB, Prelude, Claims, Contracts). This role will also integrate patient access (scheduling, registration, referrals, RTE, Security), HIM (HIM/Identity), and other applications (Hello World, MyChart, Clinical Applications, Third Party Revenue Cycle applications, etc.) to enhance the Patient Financial Experience.
The EPIC Revenue Cycle Application Architect will collaborate with a team of EPIC Application Analysts in advancing and redesigning application builds and security architecture, utilizing technical expertise in EPIC Revenue Cycle applications and a broad understanding of operational practices. Responsibilities include managing application projects through design, build, testing, and implementation phases, documenting workflow redesign processes, and adapting software to meet user needs. The role also involves collaborating with revenue cycle and clinical users to create or adapt written protocols, preparing detailed specifications for operational processes, information flow, risk, and impact analysis, and translating business requirements into functional/technical specifications and designs.
The incumbent will evaluate project and optimization submissions for appropriateness, requirements, dependencies, resource needs, and budget implications, and manage project plans for large, complex projects spanning departments, divisions, or enterprise-wide levels. Additionally, the architect will ensure compliance with federal initiatives and improve outcomes related to patient safety, quality, and financial initiatives. Establishing credibility at all levels, building partnerships through positive consultative interactions, and providing leadership to analyst teams by fostering an environment conducive to professional interaction, creative problem-solving, and the development/implementation of EPIC systems and associated third-party systems are also key aspects of this role

Demonstrates ability to facilitate discussions, drive consensus, and manage/deescalate incidents or challenging conversations. Reaches out to teammates to discuss items to obtain resolution.
Documentation – Responsible for ensuring the creation and maintenance of workflow documentation as pertains to build within Revenue Cycle Applications. Leads efforts in assuring documentation standards are utilized by team to improve their documentation skills. Inclusive of support, installation/testing, training, maintenance, meeting minutes and other various documentation as required. Manages documentation for assigned projects and ensures timely delivery to necessary parties.
Healthcare Informatics - Advances the evolution of systems to support the effective and efficient flow of patient information across the system and maximize clinical and financial performance. Focused attention to furthering an “EPIC first” approach and streamlining technical workflows and system utilization across the organization. Facilitates the adoption and use of health information systems by streamlining processes and workflows across application teams. Utilize project management methodologies and clinical/business expertise to inform workflow, system design, and support end users. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of heuristics in software design and focuses on these principles when evaluating and designing workflows and build solutions.
Information Technology- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of best practices and proactively applies in the implementation and maintenance of information systems. Promotes and monitors the importance of developing processes that can be sustained. Ability to utilize core tools needed to perform system enhancements, support, and documentation (e.g., FTP, Office Products, SharePoint). Responsible for following departmental standards and policies when utilizing application tools, recommending improvement potentials.
Presentation Skills - Presents diverse topics to diverse groups. Has the ability and can represent well in multiple areas. Is enthusiastic and constantly successful when stretching outside of their comfort zone. Consistently demonstrates ability to maintain/facilitate productive and professional discussion.
Project & Task Management - Consults with departmental leadership to determine information technology requirements to determine boundaries and priorities of new projects to support the departmental needs. Works with departmental leadership involved with proposed projects to define scope of project requests. As necessary, creates and maintains a project plan for assigned projects, at as detailed a level as needed for application implementations or project oversight.
Testing - Coordinates the development of application and the approval process for integrated test scripts for complex and integrated workflows for assigned projects. Ensures projects undergo thoroughly testing until results meet departmental standards and end user approval. Follows established process for production moves per departmental policy, moves only after approval obtained.
Who You Are:
Education: bachelor’s degree required. A combination of relevant education (associate degree) and two (2) additional years of experience as outlined below can be substituted for the required degree.
Licensure/Certification: Current EPIC training status (certification, accreditation, and/or proficiency) in primary application required. Combination of current EPIC training statuses in additional area(s) in application maintenance and development required. If EPIC training is required, results must meet department expected outcomes regarding completion time frame, overall scoring, and other aspects of training status completion.

Work Shift:
M-F 8-5; A standard workweek is required, with a varying degree of hours beyond 40 hours required due to flexing needs of the business. Schedule changes that include evening or overnight support required to support work projects. Participation in an on-call (overnight/weekend) support rotation, based on supported application needs, in addition to regular schedule may be required.
