Area Manager (Mid-Atlantic)

Leadership. Responsibility. Passion. Area Managers are responsible for supervising the operations of an entire Aftermath (a ServiceMaster Brands company) area and have the opportunity to make a true impact on our organization. You'll oversee approximately 10-12 locations ($10-15M in revenue) while leading employees and driving sales growth for one of the fastest-growing biohazard remediation companies. 

What you will do :

  1. Identify address, & resolve performance issues through action plans & corrective action
  2. Plan and conduct regularly scheduled meetings & visits with direct employees.
  3. Ensure the safety of employees & customers
  4. Ensure employees are trained in and follow EHS (Employee Health & Safety) Guidelines
  5. Attain revenue goals consistently
  6. Ensure area staffing, scheduling, and availability so Dispatch can fluidly set appointments
  7. Ensure project work plan, progress, complicating factors, & deviations from the work plan are all noted accurately & timely in the portal in a professional & fact-based method 
  8. Address & resolve customer service complaints 
  9. Manage and achieve area payroll budget
  10. Ensure all pay & billing related information is passed along to the proper Central Operations department
  11. Ensure training & development of staff to retain a motivated, professional workforce. 
  12. Review and analyze shop inventory procedures, cycle counts, & levels to ensure every truck is properly stocked & ready to work
  13. Review and analyze the competitive landscape within the area and keep leadership informed of Aftermath’s competitive pricing position.
  14. Collaborate with Divisional Director & Marketing teams for lead generation performance


What you will bring:

  • Must have at least 3-5 years of relevant operations management experience including but not limited to:
    • People Management
    • Multiple Site Management
    • P&L management
  • Exceptional skills in attention to detail, time management, project management, and organizational abilities
  • Prior experience that demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to build rapport and establish effective relationships.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Background in construction, demolition, restoration, or experience using hand or power tools a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. 
  • We will consider a significant work history of leadership or military service to offset degree requirements.
  • Ability to travel outside the home market roughly 50-75% of the time and be responsive during non-traditional work hours as required.


Compensation Details:
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At ServiceMaster, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $100,000 to $150,000 annually plus bonus.
