Job description

This is a remote position.

Schedule: 40 hours weekly | Monday–Friday; 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM California Time, with 1-hour unpaid break

As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations at the front desk. Your primary responsibilities will include managing appointments, handling patient inquiries, processing payments, maintaining patient records, and facilitating communication within the healthcare facility.


Responsibilities
  • Efficiently manage the appointment booking system to schedule patient visits and follow-ups.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to arrange appointments based on availability and urgency.Ensure appointment reminders are sent to patients through various communication channels.
  • Utilize our electronic medical records (EMR) system to update patient information accurately.
  • Proficiently operate office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient data in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Process patient payments for medical services, co-pays, and outstanding balances.
  • Verify insurance information and collect necessary payments as per the healthcare facility's policies.
  • Relay important messages and inquiries from patients to the respective doctors and medical staff.
  • Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers for prescription refills, lab results, etc.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, nurses, and other administrative personnel to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Assist in handling administrative tasks, such as managing medical supply inventory and office organization.
  • Greet patients warmly and provide them with a positive and caring first impression.
  • Answer patient inquiries, address their concerns, and provide information about our services.


Requirements
  • Customer service experience is required
  • Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting is a plus
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in using office software, EMR systems, and data entry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and medical staff.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and handle a busy front desk environment.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance procedures is desirable.
